Hey man, thx for the 5 star rating. It looks like you got your work cut out for you with your scirocco. I wish you the best of luck. In terms of the VR6, it is high maintenance and labor is horrible. In order to change the waterpump, my mechanic had to lower the whe engine and the only way to do that was to lower the whole subframe. He hates my car and wishes I never return, but I do... I used to have a golf with a 1.8L 8v. Best engine I ever had. Reliable, good on gas, quick enough and I could fix everything myself in the garage. Go 1.8L 8v. I can't afford a real sound system in the car because most of my money goes to maintenance, gas and rent. Lets not start on gas consumption... Peace.
