Hi there,

I have a 2003 Chevrolet 2500 HD for sale. It comes with the window sticker, I am the 3rd owner, the second owner only owned it for 3 months or so, as it made his insurance rates go up so he sold it very soon after he bought it. I've owned it since April of 2004. It has been a REALLY nice truck for me, and I'm sad to see it go, but graduate school necessitates it unfortunately. It came from the factory with the following options: 6.6L Duramax Diesel engine, Allison auto transmission, 2WD, 3.73 gears with limited slip rear differential, extended cab, short bed, CC, PS, PDL, PB, cold AC, hot heat, tow package, dual front air bags, ABS, crank windows. The truck has less than 122,000 miles. I average around 14.5 mpg of diesel fuel in the city, 18-20 on the highway, depending on if I drive 75 or 63mph.

Over the past 3 years I've owned it, I've added quite a few upgrades including but not limited to the following: Line-X truck bed and bed rails ($750), K and N cold air intake system ($375), Magnaflow dual 4" exhaust ($800) (it has a nice deep growl to it, but isn't too loud at all), EGR blocker plate ($20), head unit with CD player ($100), 10" sub-woofer and amplifier, and capacitor ($175), tinted windows ($100), goose-neck ball came in the truck bed, along with trailer brake controller (I've never towed with goose-neck, the previous owner did extremely seldom, call for details), nice moto rims ($600), 33" mud tires ($500), blanket for front grille in winder ($20), side mounted tool box ($200)... I'm sure there are some other upgrades I've done and am forgetting, but as you can tell, I have invested over $3500 in upgrades to improve this truck!

Just for fun, I went on KBB.com to see in round numbers, what I should ask for this truck... attached is the KBB link

http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=2003&VehicleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=9&Condition=Excellent&ModelId=60&PriceType=Retail&VehicleId=2006&Mileage=121000&SelectionHistory=2006|31515|24060|0|0|76346|true|76390|true|76419|true|76430|true|76451|true|76464|true|76559|true|76570|true|76597|true|76604|true|76609|true

(make sure you copy/paste the whole link if you want it to work.)

They claim my truck is worth $19,360 if it's in excellent condition, but it is NOT, it is in GOOD condition though. These are the items it needs which would make it a 100% perfect truck...

-the speedo stopped working, this is very common on these trucks. A guy rebuilds them on ebay for $90, I can send you the link if you want... it was posted before but my listing was flagged... or just ebay search duramax speedo (I never replaced cause I have a GPS)

-the front bumper is dented (these are all over ebay too, brand new ones for $300)

-the paint has small scratches on the hood and right bed side, I got a quote from a body shop to re-spray those areas for $300

-the check engine light is on because the glow plug circuit. There is nothing wrong with the glow plugs! all 8 were replaced 5 months ago!, however, there is a loose ground for one of them, which is throwing the fault code. A nut/bolt just has to be tightened for better continuity for the ground to fix this.

I graduated from VT with a mechanical engineering degree in May, and am not working on my master's in BioProcess Engineering. I have been obsessed with cars my entire like (probably why I have 4 or 5 now), so needless to say, I have maintained this vehicle very well, and have always replaced filters and changed fluids on time!

In December the injectors on this truck went out. It was slowly leaking fuel into the crack case where only engine oil belongs. I had all 8 of the injectors replaced under the factory GM 200,000 injector warranty! This was over a $4000 job, but because GM had issues with the injectors in the LB7s (01-04 duramax), they replaced them all free of charge, along with new glows plugs, seals, gaskets, etc. These brand new injectors have around 500-1000 miles on them, and are covered under warranty from GM for another 200,000 miles! Just yesterday, I picked up my truck from the dealership because the Injection pump went out ($1500+). While this was getting replaced, I also replaced the stock fuel filter and fuel filter housing with one from Dmaxwrenchkit.com. I believe the new one was $269 plus a $400 core. Unfortunately, the IP and filter housing were not covered under warranty, but was paid for by me.

The upgrades I have invested into this truck total more than $3500, plus I just put almost $2000 more in repairs. Although it may need $600 or so more invested to make this truck 100% perfect, this is a pickup truck, so a scratch or two and the speedo not working never bothered me at all. I believe my asking price is fair, as the KBB value says 19,000, plus I have all kinds of upgrades to customize this rig!

I probably have around $25,000 into this truck, and I know I am going to take a loss in selling it. I believe my asking price to be fair, but I am willing to nego. a bit.

The only thing I am interested in trading for is another diesel plus cash. The only diesels I am interested in are Cummins 12 valve, 4bts, or Mercedes/VW. I also like the K5 diesel blazers and suburbans.... but what I really want is..... a 12 valve, 4x4, manual trans extended cab P/U.

I am looking for a 94-98 cummins 12 valve, with a manual trans and 4x4, and extended cab. bed length doesn't matter to me.

Some closing thoughts: I have just replaced within the last 500 miles the two most important parts of the diesel motor: the injectors and injection pump. This vehicle will last another 150k miles at the least. Instead of purchasing another truck and "tricking it out", you would save tons of money by purchasing one already setup nice! Test drives are more than welcome, I am located in Blacksburg, VA (24060). PLEASE DO NOT bother me if your not interested in the truck, and PLEASE don't ask me if im interested in your 1982 ford crown vic. If you are interested in my truck, please respond by emailing the link above, and include your phone number or a way to get in touch with you along with any questions you may have... If you do not have anywhere near my asking price, or want to low-ball me, I am not interested, so please refrain from spammin my inbox brother!

Thanks very much for your time, feel free to contact me w/ questions or for an appointment to see/drive.

if your really interested, you can give me a call after 10am but before 11pm at area code 847
then 361
then 6387
THANKS AGAIN!
-Chris

And that's crazy that you got a Jeep too, because I am restoring a 1977 Levi's Edition CJ7 right now! Good tastes!

Hey man nice setup! I'm definitely wanting every bit of info you got on that kit because I'm ready to do the same to my Duramax! I mean every detail, where you got the box, all the pieces I need, how it's run, everything! Get back with my asap!
