I promised a buddy of mine that as soon as he finished his system i'd put it on the internet for all to see. I never thought the day would come, now that it has......

Here's a couple of pics of the outside of John Hamby's Rockin 91 Geo Storm GSI. The exterior of John's ride is accented with a red Street Glow undercar Neon kit, and tinted windows.

The system in this vehicle starts out with Clarion's awesome CD source unit the 9255 shown here mounted in a custom bracket, trimmed with black plexiglass. The 9255 is connected to an AudioControl EQX using Audioquest RCA cables. Here's a pic of the EQX mounted behind plexi in the rear of the hatch area.

The EQX then sends the massaged signal out to 3 Rockford Fosgate amplifiers, again using Audioquest cables.

The amps are fan cooled and have the endcaps matched to the body color. The Fosgate trio includes 2-Power 50.1's and 1-Power 50.2, qualifying for the 0-150 watt power class. All this power is used to drive 8-Rockford Fosgate DVC 10 inch woofers.

You can see in this picture that the woofers are countersunk and trimmed with gloss black formica in a very trick wall enclosure.

Another shot of the wall shows the all vinyl trim panel with raised plexiglass RF logo. The trim panel fits this car like a glove and really shows the attention to detail used in this install.

All this gear puts quite a load on the charging system of the little Geo, so John upgraded the current supply with a Stinger dry cell battery. The Stinger juice box is custom mounted in the driver's rear quarter panel behind a vinyl and plexiglass trim panel.

Also to help with current supply during musical peaks, 2-Rockford Connecting Punch 1 farad capacitors were integrated into the system. All this added current capacity is connected into the system using Stinger Accessories. The Caps and Power Distribution are mounted in the floor of the hatch area of the Geo behind a Glass panel and highlighted with red neon.

Everyone likes bass, but most of us agree that crystal clear highs really bring the music to life. In John's Geo the accurate reproduction of vocals and such are left to a set of Boston Acoustics RC61 components. These speakers are very stealthily mounted in the doors.

All of this gear is protected with an Ungo MS9000 security system. Added features are remote controlled locks, hatch release, stereo system valet, and neon control. The car has been upgraded with a power window kit to allow John to let the world know, unless they want to get blown away, watch out for the little red Geo.
