This is Big Red. Big Red is a 1970 Ford Fairlane 500 station wagon. In '70 the Fairlane 500 was the base model for the Torino line of midsize Ford cars. In '71 the base model would be renamed Torino 500.
Big Red is equipped with a 302, a C4, AC, power steering, and front disc brakes. Not bad for a base model.
We've owned Red since Sept. '04. The car has never failed to start and has been a lot of fun. There have been plans since the beginning, and they are about to come to fruition.
Recent additions to Big Red's engine include mildly worked over heads, Hooker headers that are Jet-Hot coated, Edelbrock Performer intake and 4V carb, and dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers.
Rolling stock has been updated to Wheel Vintiques 16x7 front and 16x8 rear steelies with baby moon caps. The tires are Firestone FR710 215/60/16 front and 235/60/16 rear.
The car will be going in for paint soon.
