This is my 1992 Mazda 323. It has a 1.6 litre SOHC 4 cyl engine on a five speed manual transmission.

UPDATE NOV 10, 2007
I Have installed Kenwood 6.5 inch component speakers in the front doors, with the tweeters on the dash. They sound great.

UPDATE: December 16, 2007:
I will soon be getting a K&N cone air filter and adapter to replace stock box filter. Also, a new teflon JDM shift knob is on the way. In the spring I am planning to get some new custom rims, but I am going to go against the grain and get some 13"s that look good. This may sound kinda stupid, but the rims will be cheap, and so will the tires, and thats the way i like it! I will mount some wider P185/70R13's on them.

UPDATE: December 28, 2007
The K&N cone filter is on! In case anyone wants to do this mod themselves, all you need is the adapter from the mass airflow meter to a 3" round pipe. Cost off Ebay: $10. Then I simply measure how much room i had, and i went with a universal K&N
RU-3580, which goes from 6" to 4" in diameter, and is 5" in length, with of course a 3" outlet. Total cost: $60 ish.

UPDATE: January 21, 2008
So I finally found the rims i want on my car this summer: They are 13" x 5.5" EXIM off a late 70's/early 80's BMW 320i. They are the real deal, made in West Germany, still have the BMW caps (that i will leave on haha), and they came with 4 Motomaster Predator GTS 185/70R13 tires with decent rubber.

UPDATE Feb. 08: New shift boot. Check it out on the interior page.

UPDATE: March 2008: New Bosch +4 spark plugs, new distributor cap, and new TSC battery.

UPDATE April 14. 2008: Spring is here! The rims are on! You will never see a Mazda 323 sporting old school 13" BMW rims from West Germany! I'm pretty sure i'm the only guy in the world with this combination! Check out the pics below!

MODS:

- Magnaflow muffler

- K&N Air cone air filter

- custom Intake tubing

- Bosch +4 Spark Plugs and NGK wires.

- Trisco gauge pack on dash

- custom white shift knob

- custom grey shift boot

- push-button start

- 12" Rockford Fosgate sub in Bassworx box

- 400 watt 4 channel VR3 amp

- Clarion deck

- Kenwood 6 1/2" Component Speakers

- 4x6" Clarion speakers in the rear armrests.

- disabled daytime running lights (not really a mod, but owell).

- Semperit Ice Grip 2 snow tires on stock black rims, P155/80R13

- Predator GTS tires on BMW EXIM rims West Germany, P185/70R13

Enjoy!

After a few months of Canadian winter driving, there comes a point where washing your car is pointless. I've reached that point!

^This is probably the worst spot on this car for rust. Of course, all that salt sitting on it doesn't help.

I have been repainting my winter rims black. Looks new compared to the car!

And may I present: The RIMS!

Thats right, I'm gonna be the only guy on my block (or probably this world) with vintage BMW rims on a Mazda 323. I love it! Look for pics this spring with them on my car, because for now, it's still winter and I'll be on my stock rims with winter tires.

Hey, thanks for the nice words on my Escort. I love the oddball cars and of course agree with you 100% on how they can be tons more special than the more expected cookie-cutter rides with the off-the-shelf mods. I happen to be a fan of the 323 as well; the 80's ones have a lot in common with my Escort. Great job on the BMW rims. Don't let the salt eat it up too bad, that was nearly the death of my Eagle! Cheers.

just get some spring spacers and bring the front down a bit....but you dont have to buy lowering springs like everyone else....there kinda pointless yet everyone seems to think there so important if you had a car with alot of horsepower it would help the handling....but that motor has a whopping 88hp...all itll do is make it hard for you to get in every parking lot in town...lol
