Was my best friends' car. I bought it from them and restored it over a two year period. They won the trophy. The first three photos are pre restoration.
This car is mislisted. It is a Commodore 8, not a 6. However, on a rolling stand, is a spare motor, a 308 Twin H Super Six.
I quickly discovered all of the flaws under the car's pretty skin. I began investigating, and though generally sound, the body had a Lot of surface rust, and a completely rotted out trunk.
Praise Be that I have a great metal fabricator.
We began to dismantle the car. We took it completely apart. Two running parts cars were purchased, and we began what turned out to be a 26 month, better than new, Restoration.
I was not happy with the initial interior work, which I rejected. We literally restored the interior twice. These photos are of the rejected interior.
The bodywork is the finest. It was done by Steel Bridge Restoration, in the old scissor factory, in Matamoris, PA. That's Jim Cox's and Beverly Rae Kimes' (rip) old shop. Ross, Jim's apprentice and metal fabricator, has taken over the reigns now.
The Plates now are NJ Historic plates reading "QQ DAISY3".
