this page will be for my sound system install.
here is a shot of my installed Sony c90, humount.com dash mount, and subthump stealthbox w/Elemental Designs sub
here are a couple shots of the amp board, this is not the finished set-up, just a stopping point cause it was getting so late! will be finishing up in the next couple of weeks. what you are seeing is the Sony 210 eq, Sony cdx-c91 10 disc changer, PPI art series a404 and a606.2 amps.
haven't taken pictures, but the front components are Image Dynamics 6 1/2 2ohm components and the back seat speakers will be Elemental Designs 6 inch subs. so far it sounds incredible! just need to tighten up the back so the looks match up better to the sound quality.
well i spent a couple of hours last weekend taking apart an old box that once upon a time had a RE SE15 sub in it and turning it into an amp rack of sorts. i think it looks much better and will do for now. after i get the windows tinted and the alarm upgraded, i will probably change it again :)
Well there have been many changes in this set-up since I made this page! I loved the Sony C-90 and all the Mobile ES stuff. The sound quality was the best I have ever had in any of my cars and I have been putting systems together since before a lot of you were born! (1979 was my first) But I had to get rid of it :( I could no longer handle not being able to see the display during the daytime! Especially with the EQ being run through the head unit. I listen to such a wide range of music, hard rock, classic rock, R & B, Soul, Jazz, Rap, well everything except country! It was impossible to change EQ settings and subwoofer level etc. etc. if the sun was shinning!! So I sold all of this equipment and started over. The head unit is now an Eclipse 7200 MKII

The 2 PPI Art Series amps have been replaced with an old school Planet Audio 5 channel amp. The Elemental Designs sub was replaced, after it blew up by the way, with a 12" Diamond Audio D6 dual 4 and I built a sealed box to DA specs and put on the shelf in the hatch.

I am going to build a board for the amp to sit on, just haven't gotten around to it yet. While I won't tell you it is on the same level as the Mobile ES stuff, it is not far off! The Diamond sub is head over heels better than the ED! The sound quality of the Planet Audio is top notch. It is just so hard to beat the quality of old school amps, especially from the mid 90's!! The Eclipse has a few too many whistles and bells for my taste, but it is a great unit, especially compared to a lot of the units available today. The one thing I do love about it is the blue-tooth. The mike is crappy so people can't understand me if I use it to speak thru but I never miss a call now because of my loud music!! I just pop the release on the face and use the phone to talk. That alone was worth the price! ha ha I also wanted to mention that after the faliure of the ED10" to hold up to my abuse, I nixed the plans of the ED 6" subs for the rear fill. Instead, I kept my Alpine Type S components out of my Jeep and installed those in the back. It is overkill for this small of a cabin but they sound really nice. I wanted to move the tweeters to pods on the A pillars but they are 4 ohm and the ID's up front are 2 ohm. I may end up with different front stage anyway. I know I liked my old Focals better than the ID's and I have heard some really nice CDT's as well. Or if I hit the lottery maybe some Dynaudio or Rainbows LOL Anyways, as I have done all my life with sound systems, it is a work in progress!!
Well, my addiction to car audio has reared it's ugly head again so another makeover is in the works. I bought 2 FI Audio Q12s, built a sealed box for them, bought some Pioneer 720 PRS components (not installed), and started using a Memphis Belle 5ch (4x75 @ 4ohm and 1100x1 @ 1ohm) amp. I just got started on it but here are a few pics.

The transformation continues with the addition of the Pioneer TS-C720PRS component and some Dynamat Extreme. I ditched the passive crossovers in favor of running them active off of the head unit. 15 gauge wire was ran for the tweeters and 12 gauge was used for the mid-range. With the help of some guys at the DIYMA forum, I have been able to piece together a very loud and clean sounding system. I am going to again revamp the amp set up with a PG X1200.1 on the way to handle the subs and a 4ch to be named later for the 720s. Now some pics!
