I was bored one Sunday afternoon and decided just how ghetto my Convo-Pro's w/Hoosier QTP's would look on this car. They were originally on my Grand National, I kept them because they were brand new and just didn't want to let them go. They're really not the right backspacing for a 2nd gen Camaro though. A 15x8 wheel with a 4½" backspace would look much better...these stick out ½" past the wheelwell edge. Even with the correct backspace though, it'd still be tight to fit these tires in the well.
It looks kickass from an angle, but the fact is the car doesn't need the traction these tires provide...not yet at least. It'd be lucky to spin them at all. I'd bet a beat-on-it-like-ya-hate-it launch attempt in its current state would probably just smoke the clutch, shatter the ST-10 or snap a U-joint.
Wheel & Tire Specs:
Front: Centerline Convo-Pro 15x4, 1¾" Backspace
Rear: Centerline Convo-Pro 15x8½, 3" Backspace
Front: Mickey Thompson Sportsman 26x7.50x15LT
Rear: Hoosier Quick Time Pro 28x11.5x15
Rear tire & wheel actual dimensions are 28½" high with a 12" section width (freestanding).

I thought about selling them, but I think for track-only use, they'll be more than good enough...they'll just stick out a little. I'll have to see how they fit after I restore the suspension though. They'll be a little shorter at dragstrip inflation pressures, so the height won't be too bad. Hopefully they won't rub when they grow at the big end of the track. I'll roll the inner fender lips just to be safe. Don't want to slice a tire, ya know. We'll see. For street use, I'm bought a set of Weld Draglites in 15x7 and 15x8 size with P235/60 and P275/60 tires so I can get rid of the ridiculously inadequate stock 14" Ralleys.
