Horns go from oldest to current

-The first set of train horns i got were a set of 3 omega chrome horns from a shop in Kenner. I now know that these arent genuine train horns, but at the time (Feb '07) I was happy because I was one of the few people in New Orleans who had "train horns." They were hooked up to a tiny 5.5 Liter tank and compressor setup. They were loud and they kept giving me problems, I wouldn't recommend them.

-Now my second set, I would definitely recommend. I got them in jan or feb of '08 (Right in time for mardi gras again). They are a hornblaster set of 4 plastic horns. They can be mounted separately, unlike my 1st set. I had all 4 of them in the grill..to scare people head on. I got them hooked up to the auxillary input on my alarm keypad, so I could blow them from far away. I had this set, and my 1st set hooked together. This set came with the horns, a 5gallon tank, a Viair 380C compressor, and all the necessary equipment to hook the horns up...for $500 and they sound good. My man that did my subs and 6x9s did these on my truck, but after I got my 3rd set, I sold these to my boy with a mercury grand marquis on 26s, and I hooked them up.

-My 3rd set...I THINK they were made by Kong & Sons, but I'm not sure. Got these in august or september of '08. They are actually 2 small sets of 4, and one big set of 3, all fabricated together by a guy out of tennessee, so all I needed to do was plug one hose in and all of them blew. They sounded pretty good...too high pitched for my taste, but again, they were a bargain. All 11 horns, a 5gallon tank (that could fit UNDER my truck, and a Viair 400C compressor all for around $650. My same guy that did my sound did these on my truck. But the pitch annoyed so much that I sold them to my boy with a supercharged Harley F150. I installed them on his truck and he loves them.

-My 4th set were the Nathan AirChime K3s. Now these are legitimate train horns, not imitations like the other sets. They aren't cheap (Whole set for $1200) but I was louder than anyone I've heard down here. These things are tricky to mount, because the bottom plate that is used to mount also has the air hose inlet on the bottom too, so I had them in the bed for a while. I recently figured out how to get them under the truck where the spare tire mount was though. Me and my boy installed these.

-My 4th & a half set? Haha theyre my friends Nathan Airchime P5s. They sound like they came straight off a train. But I tested them out on my truck and they are nice.

-In June '10 I found a guy selling a set of K5LAs down here...and I couldn't pass the deal up. I took a look under my truck and realized that I had enough room for 2 sets of Nathan Horns (One set forward and one back). I got the tape measure and found out that I was correct. So my boy and I fabricated a bracket to hold a set of K5LAs and my other K3LAs. I got a bigger tank..a 12 gallon 8 port tank, with 2 Viair 480C compressors. Msg me for any questions.
