Lavapuffs's 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo The sweet slick 70' Monte Carlo I got her when I was 14 a week before I turned 15. I let her sit and collect damage for many years under a tree. When I hit 17, I turned her on and fell in love. That very day I pushed her in back to begin my long task of creating a muscle car out of this abused beauty.
Without much money and virtually no knowledge of cars at all I began stripping the engine and the engine compartment, as well as the interior.
I replaced the manifold, carb, air filter, valve covers, and water pump with high performance edelbrock parts.
I tossed the A/C, re-wired with a new alternator a 1 wire alternator system, cancelling out the regulator.
Put in a new ignition several times I might add.
New belts, hoses.
Degreased for many weeks the engine compartment in very fine detial.
Replaced the whole entire brake system with a performance package.
Rebuilt Front end/rear end with performance parts.
New tires high quality straight from bf goodrich, and new rims.
I'm currently working with a company called V.I.P that is making me a new custom built modernized dash.
The cost of this is a pretty thousand dollar penny.
After that they are going to toss the seats, interior roof, and floor and replace it all with some modern material/designs.
I personally am looking for a 454 edelbrock or a 396 gto block to put in my puppy.
After that I'm going to clean up the body primer her black with white competition stripes.
Oh I also trashed the old exhaust and replaced with straight piping, 2 chamber flowmasters, and turn downs (dual). Nothing sounds prettier =).
I added some sway bars front/rear better handeling and turning ratio than ever.
New steering box, and power steering.
All new electrical.
Had the tranny rebuilt plus some mods to it, and the distributor got switched to HEI.
Had to replace the starter since the old one cracked right in half with another performance package.
Also got under a 70 chevelle at a pick apart and ripped out a new gas tank and cleaned it up and installed it.
56 thousand miles on the old engine, The new rebuilt engine added 5 years ago has about 10 thousand.
I'm not done with her but soon she'll be purring like no other.

Not to many domestic/imports can keep up, most overate her when they hear her. Either way I'm happy with my pup.
