boomtastic's 1986 Pontiac Fiero


Our 1986 Pro Street Fiero GT started life as a plain, 4 cylinder coupe. With the help of a 2x3 square tube chassis running front to back, the transformation was born. The front suspension is Mustang II with Fiero steering, while the rear suspension is a 4 link setup and a shortened Ford axle. Gears are Richmond and the posi is by Strange. The engine is a GM Performance block bored and stroked to 383ci. It is mated to a TH350 transmission. While the floor has been cut/raised and the cowl panel moved back, the interior retains it's original look and feel of the stock Fiero. Wheels are Weld 3.5" fronts and Weld 10" rears with 295/50R15 street tires on the back. We have 27x10 Eagle Slicks for track use. All power options still work. Headlamps, power windows, turn signals, brake lights - even the radio still works. The engine has been pulled and rebuilt since these pictures have been taken. Changes include: The TPI intake is gone and replaced with a Holley Stealth Ram, Lingenfelter 1000CFM throttle body, 40# Venom fuel injectors, Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads, new Jet Hot coated headers, and a Holley Commander 950 fuel management system.

Awesome ride. I've seen a lot of things done to these cars, but never seen front engine conversion before great job. Check out my '86
