Welcome to my 1971 Toyota Corolla page. Some Japanese car enthusiasts refer to this body style as the "Mango."
The only notable mods under the hood are the Thorley headers, Holley carburetor, MSD ignition, Accel spark plug wires, and MSD coil. Also, an Exide battery has been relocated to the trunk in a battery case. It is typical to find the factory battery tray to be rotted due to fluids leaking from old batteries. It's probably a good idea to move it back there anyway for improved weight distribution. Plus it will be an advantage for a car audio amplifier install later- no need for a stiffening capacitor!
The interior is in decent shape but doesn't have a headliner and will require new carpeting. It is currently still equipped with the factory Toyoglide 2-speed automatic transmission. It will eventually be converted to an AE86 5-speed manual which will relieve the stock 2T-C engine from continuous high RPM duty at freeway speeds.
I have most of the parts necessary to convert to an AE86 front suspension . Most of it was from my other car that had Ground Control coilvers with Tokico HTS dampers on custom shortened strut casings . As an added bonus, it will include a brake upgrade from the AE86 boasting bigger vented rotors and calipers. I only used that set-up for about 6-8k miles so it is all in excellent condition.
