1957 Jaguar XK140MC OTS (Open Two Seater), with 3.4L dual overhead cam inline six. MC designation includes the big-valve head (Modified with C-Type head), dual exhausts, and fog lamps. This car is one of a few, genuine 9:1 compression cars with 2" SU carbs, overdrive, and close-ratio gearbox, verified by the Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
I've owned the car for about 12 years. I rebuilt the engine and drove it for a while, but a piston split in half at 70 mph (see Page 3), so time for a new block and complete rebuild.
Since I'm a masochist, I stripped the entire car down to bare metal, and am repairing any rust (very little), and putting back to original black color. I'll redo all the chrome, and put a new interior in the car, too (black with red piping, as per heritage certificate).
