So, with the floor painted and protected now, I could work on getting those buckets in there. I had to do a lot of measuring and fabricating, and I'm not very good at any of it, but I like to do things myself. Needless to say, it took a while to get everything planned and sorted out. The first thing I did was look at the sliding rails that came with the seats, and measured them and where the bolt holes were. Then I needed to find some type of brackets that would bolt up to those rails and the floorpan without having to cut it up a lot. I looked around the net for some ideas and options, and I could have some custom made for my car with the new seats, but that was too pricey, and I still wanted to do it myself. I got some ideas from fellow first gen monte guys(http://www.fgmcc.com), who are always helpful. I went to home depot and found some L-shaped steel, and I decided I would use that. I was told that aluminum would work, but they didn't have any. And I know steel is nice and strong, seeing as I weigh 240. I wanted to be safe. I also bought an endless amount of grade 8 bolts from them to put everything together. So after measuring a million times, I cut equal sections of steel...4 per seat...and put two peices together to form a Z shape, drilled, and bolted them together. Here:
Here they are bolted to the seats.

Then I had to put them in the car to fit them right. I had to position them where I wanted them while still using the two bolt holes on each side from the old bench seat. Then I had to mark the floor and drill two more holes near the tunnel hump for each seat.
And here they are in the car.
