2jz NA-T swap
The 7mgte in my car had a spun rod bearing when I bought it. I had originally planned to rebuild the 7M but decided to go 2jzge+T on the 7mgte electronics after reading about the swap and finding a motor for $250:
Sold off the ECU, AFM, and a few other things for about $100. Viola, $150 motor capable of 700hp on stock internals!
What you need for the swap:
-2jzge (duh), preferably w/all accessories
-1jz bellhousing if you're using a R154, 2jz W58 bellhousing if you are using a W58 trans
-1jz flywheel or a lightweight FW like Driftmotion
-Jza70 motor mounts (late '89+) or BIC swap mounts ('86-early'89 and late'89-'92)
-7M harness/ECU, sensors, injectors etc.
Basically, you use the 7mgte harness and sensors and swap them over to the 2jzge. There are a few wiring changes (CPS, TPS, alternator etc.) and you use all of the 2jz accessories. In the end you have a much stouter (and cheaper) motor with modern technology that plugs right in to the MKIII chassis with an ECU already mapped for a turbo. My car started up and ran great with no tuning!!
