paul73's 1973 Chevrolet Camaro

This is me with the Runner Up trophy at Moroso Motorsports Park for Hot Rod Sunday, February 6, 2005. The winning Camaro was really fine, I'm thrilled to have beat about 20 other Camaro's for the runner up.

This is my 1973 Camaro Z-28. Car was just painted, completed March 2004. New exterior parts were installed at that time. It has a 383 Stroker motor and the 350 Turbo auto trans. American Racing Torq-Thrust II wheels. At last my project is finally complete.

This is my new interior. Seat covers and new seat foam was from National Parts Depot and the carpet is from Classic. These are my new Door Panels. I didn't like the 3 piece door panels so I installed panels for a 78. I used arm rests from a 67 Camaro, I think they look good.

I installed a new Dash and Autometer Carbon Fiber gauges, Grant sterring wheel and the Hurst Dual gate shifter. Sound system is a Pioneer cd deck with Pioneer 6x9 rear speakers.

Wow, every guys dream. This is a 383 Stroker short block that was balanced and blueprinted by Wheeler Motorsports in Jacksonville, FL (888-389-4414). It has forged flat top pistons and 4 bolt mains and Canton oil pan with windage tray. With Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads it has 10 to 1 compression. I have the Comp XE274 cam with Comp pushrods and Comp magumn roller rockers with poly locks. Comp valve springs and roller timing chain. ARP Head Bolts, Melling oil pump, Fel Pro gaskets. The intake is the new Edelbrock Permastar EPS # 2701 with a 650 Mighty Demon carb and K&N air filter. Headers are Jet Hot coated Dynomax with the American Thunder exhaust by Flowmaster. Ignition is a HEI with Proform module. For cooling I have the Edelbrock Victor Jr. water pump and Dual 11" Spal electric fans and a Be Cool Alum radiator. The Trans is a TCI Turbo 350 and a TCI "Breakaway" torque convertor with the Hurst Dual Gate shifter. The rear end has a new Eaton Posi unit with 3.23 Richmond gears and a set of Lakewood traction bars. All of the speed parts were bought thru Summit Racing and Jeg's. Dress up includes valve covers and wire looms from Billet Specialites and the billet pulleys and brackets are from Zoops. My new Sanden compressor makes the A/C work well.

Here are some Car Show pictures. I'm an officer in the Asphalt Angels car club. So this Camaro sees at least one car show a week.

Hope you enjoy the pic's of my Z-28. Come again any time.

Very nicely done. You are really making me think about doing the two-toned interior. I really think you have done a nice job!
