Picked it up 31st July 2007 from dealer, brand new, more pictures to come.

It's the 1.6 Automatic version. Automatics are a must here in crowded Cairo, and i'm fed up of my Manual VW Polo. It just sux to keep pedaling your feet in traffic jams!! (read comparison below)

Engine Specs:
106hp(Max)@5800 RPM / 90bhp(Net)@5600 RPM
144Nm(Max)@3200 RPM / 125Nm(Net)@3000 RPM
Power loss above is due to the dirvetrain & automatic transmission, which is almost -15%/-13% for both Power/Torque.
But look at that flat torque curve, you get 90% of the torque from as low as 1500 RPM, and almost 98% from 2500 till 5000 rpm. this equals very good pulling power in any speed.

Changed stock tires to Kumho ECSTA 185/55/R15
Changed stock wheels to SSW Stamford S007 Eternity 15x6.5 inch ET 40 PCD 4x100
Added Transparent Window Solar Film (UV Protection - greenish tint)

Still to add:
Fog Lights
Rear Spoiler with stop lights
Retractable in-dash DVD screen
A decent sound system! - added a Pioneer P7950UB in Dec 2007 with 4 Pioneer 280W door mounted speakers.

At the dealer's

With stock 14 inch wheels and covers

Production date

84 KM when received (pic taken at the 1st gas stop)

Profile after 15 Inch Rims

Profile

Blue on Black is really nice :)

Automatic rocks (notice the O/D switch on the knob)

Rear seat backs recline to give either more room to passengers or more room for storage, nice feature :)

Comparison with my 2004 VW Polo 9N:

Getz Pros over Polo:
*Low end torque available from 1500 RPM vs Polo above 3500 RPM, this translates into great city cruising and pulling.
*Automatic :) means loads and loads of comfort.
*Very solid & rigid build quality, no rattles from dashboard on bad roads vs Polo (dashboard rattles on uneven surfaces)
*Air condition is freezin' cold! vs average in Polo
*Fuel consumption on par with the Polo 1.4 !
*Supple suspension compared to Polo's Sports teeth-rattling suspension, translates into more comfort on Cairo's bumpy uneven roads.
*road noise is highly dampened vs the Polo's.
*rear legroom is way better in the Getz.

Polo Pros over Getz:
*Almost same performance from the 1.4 compared to the Getz 1.6!
*Full of gadgets and options
*Sunroof/ABS/Airbags/Fog lights all available stock vs Getz (None)
*16 inch rims standard vs Getz's 14 inch wheels!
*Full spare tire with rims vs Getz's tiny spare wheel
*I won't compare the 0-100 because it would be unfair pitting an Auto vs Stick!
*same goes for top speed.
*Power steering is very fluid vs the Getz's
*Boot is slightly larger in the Polo
*Massive looks :)

Final Verdict:
My judgment is based on bad road quality performance, and here it goes:
Korean quality in the Getz is really impressive. Furthermore, in traffic jams and on potholes: the Getz fairs higher in terms of comfort and ride quality. The Polo is definitely better on open roads giving me an assuring feel, but this doesn't count much in Egypt's nasty roads, so the winner by a small margin is the Getz. ;)
