THIS CAR IS SOLD

Driven with love from Aug. 17th, 2007 - Nov 29th, 2009

Well I figured it was about time to make a Cardomain page. I bought this car back in March of 2007 with 60,000kms on it. I have owend a 1995 Cavalier since December 2002 and always had plans for it. Well now I had the means and the money to do so, so this page is all the pictures I took while creating and designing a Cavalier.

This is the car, bone stock, with green tape on it which was my original idea for a paint scheme. At this point, I was thinking of keeping the original blue, and doing the secondary paint in a powder blue.

I spent the money and went with the Evo 5 body kit. I've always loved the rediculasly oversized fog lights.

So with the kit fitted (which took quite some time), we masked it up for paint. I had a few people come down and look at the paint lines and decided to go with something totally different. At this point, I had decided on a different colour too.

For the rims, I wanted to keep the 5 spoke look, and decided on the Motegi SX5's. I got 18's, but now I think I should have gone with 19's.

Out of paint now, you can see the pearl in the Lexus Artic Blue paint we used. The raw materials cost $1500 just for the paint (and base coat etc). My dad was able to call in a few favours to do this car, and one of them was with the company that supplied his work (a GM Dealership) with paint.

For the exhaust, I had a shop custom bend some Magnaflow pipes and mufflers to get them to come out percisely where we had modified the back bumper. Here's a shot, without the rear bumper attached:

Now a hot issue with the 03-05 model is what to do with the rear deflector. Most think it is quite ugly, and I totally agree. I had two options, buy the filler piece and get 2002 inner tails, or what my dad suggested, paint them. I didnt like that idea, but figured we could try it anyway, and if it looked like crap, I could always just take them off. Easier to replace, then go back and ask for more paint. I think they turned out extremely well.

So here she is, all bottoned up, pinstiped and ready for the shows:

And now some show pictures. My buddy Jeff has a wikkid 91 Accord
that needs to be checked out.

That last shot was from Scrape By The Lake 2007 where Jeff (painfully) took home 2nd for Accords, and I got my first trophy with a 3rd place finish for 2000+ Cavaliers.

thanks for the comment man, great paint and i love the kit. I remember your car at scrape, I have been going since 07 which was the first year I went. This year after I had all the work and paint done, I took first place so that was pretty good. The cavalier class is a hard one to place because there are so many. Great job on third, I bet there was about 12 to 15 there anyway, so third is awesome. keep up the mods, 5 stars
