1994 Forest Green Mercury Sable 'Bud Smokin' Sable'

Update: 01/20/03 8:35 P.M.
ISOBARIC!!! Yup, I'm now trying out the "isobaric" method of mounting a subwoofer, although it's only one sub, it's still cool. The idea is to get better air usage by taking the magnet to the outside. I also got a new box, it's a "truck box" and it has .88 cubic feet of air space to play with, PLUS, it has grey on the sides! Anyway, it pounds. I love it. Enjoy the picture! (Atleast I hope you enjoy it... :))

Got yet another few toys for my car, one being a PlayStation. I've had this one for awhile now, i've had it since about '98, but after years of use the cd mechanism failed, and it's been sitting for over a year. But, recently another broken PSX fell into my hands that had a working cd mechanism. So, I replaced it into my old unit, and also installed a Stealth V modchip. Along with all of this, I also bought a new memory card, and modified it according to the "Memory Card Captor Sakura" method, and now I can transfer my emulation/real psx saves back and forth to my PC. If anyone's interested, here's the website to modify your memory card too. http://www.gamesx.com/mccap/ What this has to do with my car, I have no idea, but it's cool nonetheless. I also bought an DC/AC Inverter, so now I can enjoy my PSX in my car too. Pretty cool all-in-all.

I got pictures up about the Sable, it's system, and it's toys. LOL. Scroll to the bottom to see them.

Current Multimedia Setup:
PlayStation (PSX) Model No. SCPH-5501 w/Stealth V Modchip
BOSS Audio DVD-2000 DVD Player (VCD, MP3, CD-R/RW Compatible)
Legacy (Citizen) 6" LCD Monitor
Clarion DB225 50Wx4 Head Unit
Firestorm Daytona 2-Channel 400W Amplifier
Standard FM Modulator (For BOSS DVD-2000)
(2) Pioneer 6.5" 150W 2-Way Speakers (4 Ohm) (Front)
(2) JDLX 6x9" 275W 4-Way Speakers (4 Ohm) (Rear)
Marathon 12" 1000W Subwoofer (4 Ohm) (Rear)

If anyone is interested, my old car is also available to view under "sk8er3200" in my 'friends' list. I bought my 6x9's, my sub, my amp, and my 2nd head-unit (The first was a Blaupunkt, but it was destroyed bacause of a Mt.Dew accident.) when I first got this car, but when it finally died, they were transplanted to my Sable. And eventually the 6.5" speakers, the DVD player, and the monitor were added to the Sable.

Personal Comments:

BOSS DVD-2000: For anyone looking for a great DVD player for under $200, buy this one. Although I have only had it since Christmas, I am extremely impressed with it.

Legacy 6" LCD: Nothing spectacular here, the picture on this is beautiful, but I just don't see how they can say on the box "Equipped With Built-In Speaker," because I wouldn't even call it a speaker. More like a noisy cricket. But the sharpness of the picture makes up for that. And for $100 brand-new, i'm not complaining.

Clarion DB225: This head-unit has yet to fail me. It has worked wonderfully since day one. And even with the subwoofer turned off, it can really make your surrounds pound.

Firestorm Amp: Although this is not a name-brand amplifier, I must say I am impressed with this amp. It is rated at 4 Ohms MAX, but I have easily pushed 1.3 Ohms in the past with it with no problems.

JDLX 6x9's: These speakers can pound, but after awhile the wire leads going to the midranges and tweeter break. So with a little modification I ran separate, stronger wire separate of the woofer. Aside from that though, these are decent speakers, and don't distort from what I can hear.

Pioneer 6.5's: I must say, these are REALLY impressive co-axials. The design Pioneer used to run the tweeter leads separate of the woofer is ingenius. Hands down, these are the best 6.5" speakers under $75 i've ever seen. Pioneer is the shit.

FM Modulator: Nothing special here, just a regular FM modulator with decent quality. Given that changing the signal to an FM station looses quality anyway, this modulator still sounds good.

Marathon Sub: For a late 90's subwoofer, this is adequit, but like the FM modulator, it's nothing special either. Nothing like a nice pair of Kickers. LOL.
