Page 5 - My first car
I started with this 67 Hardtop when I was 15.

With some help from my now brother-in-law and my dad we transformed it into this on a HS teenager budget! After HS I built the engine with every hot rod speed secret known at the time. I had some early 289 casting heads reworked for 2.02 Chevy intake valves and 1.94 exhaust and srew-in studs and guide plates and ported them. The chambers combined with .030" over flat top pistons gave me 12.5:1 Compression ratio. I had a radical Comp Cam, windage tray, Torker II intake, Holley 750CFM Mallory dual points and Hooker headers. I detryed a few C4's so I built a C5 and added a high stall torque converter. I even broke that so I put in a C6 from a E150 van with a small block bolt pattern, I never broke that trans! I had to run octane booster or high octane racing fuel which even back then was expensive but she would scream! I had a Maverak rear-end which was narrower than the original so it looked like it was mini tubbed with those 9.5" wide 50 series BFG's on the back.

Thanks for checking out my ride!
