Page 3 - Bodywork and reassembly
Here is a couple "before" shots taken in 1990 when I put on the rear quarters and floor pans. Notice those headers and the big C6 in the shot from under the car.

You can see in the above photos I had the 460 in it with an 85 5.0 GT Air breather and then an open Moroso.
One of many parts cars that gave it's life to save my 67...

Not much happened in the mid to late 90's until I redid the suspension and adde 4 wheel disc brakes with spindles from a Granada and 9" rear from a Licolon Versailes. I also installed stainless brake lines and a full "Grab-A-Track" Suspension with new springs, bushings, a arms, shocks, etc.
My wife was tired of all the different colors so we primed it grey so we could drive it a little.

Watch it smoke the tires off, no bleach, water, etc. just a lot of torque!
I added the "Eleanor" Nose in 2006

In February 2007 I took it to get painted (the only work we didn't do ourselves). I was lucky to find a shop that let me work on it with them. When we dropped it off they let me and my oldest son strip it down, we pulled the engine, drivetrain and suspension. We also took the interior and windows back out. We found more rust to deal with before paint. The rear trunk floors were weak and the frame rails were looking bad around the shackles so we cut it all out.

Notice the frame rail was starting to split where the shackle goes thru.
But that wasn't the only rust I had to deal with...
After blasting the shock towers, they showed signs of failing. So we cut everything off from the firewall forward (one side at a time) and replaced it.

While we were at it we added subframe connectors to strengthen it up a bit for the big block.

We also did the 1" Shelby drop on the UCA's when we put the suspesion back on. Now that those major setbacks are out of the way, we could get to the task of prepping the body for paint.

It seamed like it took forever to get the glass to fit right, but we finally got to put some paint on the jams, etc.

Then we finally shot some paint on the body!!!

I took the engine home and painted it to match the car.

I took the car home from paint in September 07 to start putting it back together.

Late October 2007, she was coming together...
Crites Motor mounts

got the front-end aligned one cool fall morning, she was getting closer!
Here are a few pics after the alignment.
Still needed wipers, mirrors, door handles, trim and exhaust but she was looking good I think...

Ground clearance with these headers is going to my my biggest problem!
Started putting on trim, door handles etc. in the Spring of 2008.

Wet sanding is messy!
