This is my Medium Vermillion Red 88 Mustang GT. It came stock with A/C and power everything including seats. My car has an AOD automatic transmission and because it is an 88 it was the last year of the speed density engine management system. Mid year 89 models all the way to present mustangs use a mass-air system. The speed density cars use manifold pressure, 02 readings and a set fuel curve to estimate fuel consumption while the mass air cars measure how much air goes into the engine to make fuel adjustments. Speed density cars will usually be a little quicker than the mass-air cars. but Mass-air is very flexible and can take mods better than speed density... An example would be cams and injectors.. you can't upgrade your cam or put in larpger injectors without first converting to mass air... since my car will probably never get a cam or bigger injectors I find no flaw in owning a speed density car.
I bought this particular car in the Spring of 99' for $4,000 from a friend of mine. The car came with 3.55 gears, pony wheels and an offroad exhuast consisting of an offroad H and Dynomax super turbos W/LX tips. This is my daily driver and that is it's sole purpose. it does occasionally see the track a few times a year and can also be found streetlight racing from time to time if the chance arises. So far my little AOD has been able to pull 14.02 @ 98.7 with a 2.0 60' on street tires not bad for a little AOD.
Current modifications:
Stock 225,000 mile engine
Stock AOD tranny
3.55 gears
JBA unequal length headers
Bassani Catted "X"
Dynomax Bullet mufflers
Dynomax Aluminumized GT tailpipes

Goodyear Eagle T/R tires
Mustang wish list
steeper gears 3.73, 3.90 or 4.10's
Baumann shift kit
Baumann boost control valve
"A" Servo
Tranny Cooler
Accufab AFPR w/gauge
Current goals for the car
To get into the 13's!!!!!!
I am go close I can smell it.. only 2 hundreths of a second to go. All I need to do is find something small that will net me just a few more HP. I am hoping an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator might do the trick.. My timing is already set pretty high.. I don't think I could go any higher without knocking. If the AFPR doesn't work I will be installing a Baumann shift kit on my car when I have the tranny out for a rear main seal replacement. Keep checking back for updates and please rate me car....
Here are some movies of my car in action. since they are on a geocities site you will have to cut & paste the link into your browser to work...

UPDATE!!! Oct 2003
In September 2003 while on the interstate I went to go around a slower car, my car downshifted and BOOM.. I lost 3rd and 4th gear.. I later found out my stall converter siezed up internally and rounded off the input shaft. While it was down I rebuilt the AOD using a rebuild video purchased from a Lady off the Corral.net... I used a trans-star rebuild kit with Borg Warner clutches, Raybestos steels, and Kevlar Overdrive band.. The rebuild went super easy and was done in about 3 hours total time. I also went ahead and purchased a PI hardened input shaft, Edge Racing 11 inch 2600 RPM stall Converter with lock-up, Baumann Shift Kit, Baumann Boost Control Valve, A+ Super Overdrive Servo, and Hayden Transmission cooler..
I should have it in by the end of the week.. stay tooned for new times!!!
