The final product. Read below to see what all I did to make this car.
See page 3 for more pictures of the finished car.

This is my camaro project Ive been working on for about 4 years. Its a 1981 Z28 with T-tops. I purchased this car as a rolling chassis after I totalled my 79 Camaro after being hit by a drunk driver.

A year or so after I purchased the 81 I replaced all the suspension and steering componants myself in my garage. I used products from Moog, Edelbrock, and Suspension Technologies. I also did the engine and tranny drop with the help of my 2 brother's. The seats were reapolstered in my garage too! There is new carpet, and new interior panels. The dash insert was custom built by Specialty Metal Fab in Houston, TX, and filled with Ultra-Lite Pro Comp Gauges.
This is a pic of the dash panel prior to the column being painted and the dash being restored. (I just need a new pic.)

I started with the suspension in March 2006

All new componants

The suspension project took about 6 weeks but as you can see, it will be a smooth ride and well worth the hard work.

Dirty rear axle caked with 26 years of road funk.

The same rear axle after I cleaned, sanded, and painted it. The rearend has been rebuilt with a 4:10 posi.

The car hit the shop on July 27th 2007.

New 2-1/2"cowl hood.

I sent my original bumper to a shop to be remolded. GM hasnt released the licsencing for aftermarket fabrication so this was pretty much my only option to get a fresh bumper. It came back like new!
