Welcome to my page!! This is Lana, my ultra-rare 1992 Dodge Spirit R/T. I purchased her from Jesse Wolfe of Manchester, Iowa on August 2, 2007. Don't forget to click on the video link at the bottom of the page and be amazed at what these "Ultimate Sleepers" can do. It will explain all the stats in Jesse's ebay listing. But first, here's what he said:

Vehicle Description

up for sale is a 1992 dodge spirit r/t turbo, the good news, this is a pretty rare car, only made from 1991-1992 and only a few hundred were made, this is a 92 which is the rarer of the two years it was produced, it has 217 ft lbs of torque and 224 horses under the hood, enough of the specs, and now for the bad news, the car has a rod bearing out of it, it will still run and move under its own power, but it cannot be driven at the moment and must be trailered, the top end of the car is good, and it has a new timing belt, oil pump, oil pump drive shaft, and is in overall pretty good condition, it has some small hail dents on the roof hood and trunk, but not very noticeable, there is some sun fading on the spoiler, and a bit of rust behind the left rear wheel well, this car does not need those parts that you CANNOT find, it just needs a rod bearing, the turbo is still good, and it will start right up, the tranny is tight, the clutch is good, even the brakes are good, although the rotors are a bit rusty from sitting, the interior is just about perfect, everything works, power windows, locks, lights... now a rod bearing takes some effort to replace but it is not to bad if you know what your doing, this car is worth saving, and i hope someone can put the time into it, i just have to much going on and haven't been able to get around to doing it, and i hate to see it sit, this car is a blast to drive, when the turbo hit and throws you back in your seat on your way to a 14 second quarter mile in the fastest sedan in the world in 1992, good luck and happy bidding "

Other basic info:
2.2L turbocharged intercooled w/ DOHC Lotus head
224hp @ 6000rpms and 217ft-lbs @ 2800rpms
A568 heavy duty 5spd Getreg manual transaxle
32mpg will give it a 400 mile range
Turbo is a Garret pushing 11psi
The Turbo III engine in the Spirit R/T was the first engine to produce more than 100HP and 100ftlbs torque per liter.
Production Stats:
1991- 1208 total(774 red, 434 white)
1992- 191 total(92 red, 68 white, 31 silver)
Also note that of the 1399 cars produced, just 8 of those did NOT have power equipment. Lana is not one of the 8, but she is one of the 92 red R/Ts built in 1992.

retroman's 1992 Dodge Spirit Well, that about sums it up for now. The Dodge Spirit R/T was the fastest sedan in the world when built, out rivaling the Taurus Sho. Even today, it will take on brand new BMWs and Mercedes with ease. Compared with modern muscle, an '07 Mustang GT reaches 60mph in just 5.6 seconds. The R/T does it in 5.8 with the added bonus of 30+mpg and cheap insurance. Sounds like hotrodder's heaven!! I'll have more pics posted when I actually go to pick the car up. She's 600 miles from my home right now.
8-24-07 I found this link to show everyone what the R/Ts are capable of. I wanted to post the actual video here but couldn't figure it out.
Audi S4 vs. Dodge Spirit R/T Both cars are mostly stock.

hey thanks for the comment. yeah i know that they make a rwd kit for the daytona. problem is that the 90's lebarons are not k bodies anymore, they are j bodies. I'm sure i could somehow get it to work though. I'll have to make a lot of mods before it happens though.

i've been trying too look for this engine everywhere. You are lucky that you scored such a good car. I've been researching this car for a long time.

man i understand that about wanting to be out of the ordinary, thats why i used to be big into stuffing 350's in odd ball foreign usually ugly cars. but idk i guess there are just some cars i never considered any of the 80's/early 90's front wheelers to be desireable cars. the 64 prolly wasnt the most desireable thn youre right, but had they made it a 421 tri-powered 2+2 four speed it woulda been. more power to you man and like i told the other guys with these cars man best of luck whiping up on those mustangs and camaros, and youre a better man then me for being able to see the beauty in it lol i must be too shallow
