My Little Pocket Rocket!
Everyone should have one for commuting to work and leave the guzzlers for playtime but then there'll be twice as many cars.....
What to do?.......
Anyway, when I bought this cute little baby car a year ago when fuel prices meant just throwing money away running a 1991 3.0i Supra turbo as my daily driver, I immediately added a K&N induction kit with side scoop as it was sluggish and I knew it wasn't very happy.
After a particularly messy experience with an oil suction pump and three feet of tubing, I also bought a replacement oil pan with a screw-in plug just like any other car, as incase you didn't know, these cars (atleast in Europe) don't have oil drain plugs!
Apparently it's a growing trend to force owners to dispose of the oil responsibly by having the garage do it for them.
Yeah right!
Welcome to the New World Order folks! If this is their idea of common sense, they can keep it!
Meanwhile, the engine never gets a full oil change and sludge builds up in the sump, contaminating the fresh oil and leading to premature wear and way poorer performance, the owner has to take time off work and drive to the garage, the oil is more likely to be spilt in the engine bay whilst sucking it up the dipstick tube and also it's VERY difficult to do unless it's freshly heated to operating temperature, which softens the pump piston and causes blow by and then jetwashes you with hot oil when you pull back the plunger. I still can't quite believe they'd be so dumb and greedy! Mind you, that's nothing compared to events like 911 and the lies surrounding that little adventure down the rabbit hole! Someone wake me up as this MUST be a bad dream!
Oh yeah, back to 'reality' for a moment; The oil change intervals will doubtless be increased by all the above, to save money and hassle too, so the environmental argument can only be justified on the basis of everyone pouring oil down the drain instead of disposing of it 'responsibly' at their local collection point at the trash dump, if they even have one. I still have 14 years of old oil in my garage in the bottles it came out of so I can see their point but I certainly won't be pouring it down my kitchen sink or storm drain! Who dresses these people in the morning?
Next on the list of 'must have' improvements was a billet oil filter adapter (ebay) that screws in and allows use of standard ones so you don't have to buy overpriced paper filter elements that only 'Smart Centers' stock.
The idea was to save the planet I suppose (and nothing to do with MONEY, I'm sure) but stop making cars then! If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well. The planet, by the way is literally made of iron ore, for the most part, so we're told and belts out more pollution in one volcano than we ever have or will. Notice the way 'carbon dioxide' has been replaced with simply 'carbon' emmissions since it's been proven that elevated carbon dioxide levels historically correspond with COLDER global temperatures. We're coming out of an ice-age, incase no-one went to school lately so of course the glaciers and icecaps are melting! This is a natural cycle, that we are merely contributing to but there ain't nothin' we can do to actually STOP it (short of destroying the Sun) and anyone who claims you need to pay more TAX to do so is lying and an opportunist! Get it? This is how government works, children......fear based mind control. Simple but so effective.
Anyhow, back to the cute ickle Smarty Car!
Ebay to the rescue again for an add-on stainless exhaust tip since the standard one exits under the rear valance and in slow traffic, you'll gradually get carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning through any leaks in the engine seal or chassis.
Also improves performance greatly when combined with the induction kit. The turbo needs to be allowed to breathe freely to work properly so I cut away the intake 'funnel' lip at the back to flow the air better into the downpipe to the filter whilst keeping the front and top portion of the lip to deflect rain as it was presumably designed to do. It's like a different car now. The acceleration (atleast through each gear) is comparable to my Supra turbo! The only let down is the notoriously slow semi-auto gearbox but you get used to it.
Hardly a reason not to buy one as a commuter vehicle in my view and the driving position is nice and high, like a truck, rather than a car so you get a good view of the road ahead.
If you buy one of these great K&N filter kits however, degrease the filter rubber and fitting with white spirit or something similar before you push it on or it will squeeze off when you tighten the steel band, since the end support isn't used anymore with the filter supplied and the mounting lip inside the airbox is not really long enough.
These cars are supposed to be limited to 84mph but mine goes off the dial! I'd say it easily does 100 if you let it, although I wouldn't recommend it in high crosswinds!
Overall, safe, reliable and fun little cars with plenty of head and legroom even for guys like me at 6'5" and so cheap to run, I can afford a GMC Typhoon for those summer days out! Check out my progress as I restore it and rebuild the engine and then convert it to run on LPG (liquid petroleum gas or propane for short).
If that works properly and I'm saving 50% on my fuel bills, I'll seriously attempt to add 'HHO' or hydrogen/oxygen gas from water to the mix for even greater economy. Check out 'Water Powered Car' on Google video or Youtube for more info and other related vids. A MUST see!
Not as much as the BIG LIE of 911 as no more blatant government/media sponsored event in recorded history deserves more public scrutiny and may God rest the souls of those who's lives were so cruelly cut short. Amen.
The two subjects directly affect YOU every day and are also directly related, by the way, to OIL so follow the money and you'll find the ones behind the supression of new fuel/energy technologies and the profiteers from 911 are the same people. They just happen to be the richest in the world.....go figure!
