1956 Chevy, Bel Air
This is my 1956, Chevy, Bel Air. I purchased it November, 06' and did some engine work to it. I started off with a 350ci block with a set of cast iron heads I got from my friend Shawn's Uncle. They have 2.06int. and 1.68exh. valves, and spring lift rated for .500". It has a .454int. and .468exh. lift cam with 213/219degree lobe sep. It has an Edelbrock Performer intake, topped off with a 650cfm Holley carb., and Edelbrock classic valve covers. It doesn't quite hit the lick I was looking for, but it still sounds good running thru Hedman Hedders, 3" glasspacks, and side exhaust, with 3" dumps in front of them! She has a 4 speed, 3:55 rear gear, and the body is how I bought it last Nov. Even stock interior! Spring and summer 07', I blew the stock rear end out of it. Apparently they don't like burnouts! Oh well, I replaced it with an era specific rear from a 64 chevy, so now it's a posi! I also put some traction bars on it, Not slappers! They actually bolt to the leaf spring perches. I had to cut the side exhaust off so the bars would fit, but still sounds very nice. This winter will be another project to finish with brakes, and suspension. It's a work in progress, so be gentle in the comments!
