Engine Swap 1992LE Sunburst
My wife's car needed some more power. Her 1.6L was getting a little tired. We were able to locate a low mileage (34k) 1.8L engine at a wreckers in Youngstown, Ohio.
Before the install began I cleaned and sprayed the engine with some high temp paint.
Here's my buddy Dave, aka Da' Klown as in www.houseofklown.com, performing some mechanical wizardry.
You're not seeing double. There really are two 92LE Sunbursts in the garage, both with fresh 1.8L upgrades.
The cam cover was sent out for powder coating. Her 1.6L Racing Beat intake was adapted for the 1.8 engine. We used the Flyin' Miata conversion kit as well. Here is the final product.
She is a happy woman, ergo, I am a happy man.

Long time no see. How's BC. Good to see you still have the cars. I'm out of the loop now that mphiles has dropped me from their website. Nice eh. Check out my new ride on page 7
Great job putting this together...a lot of attention to detail (really like the RS light cover intake). I had been planning to install TSIs but the RS will do better job with BEGI Cool Air intake I have ordered.
Great looking cars. Definitely want to get my valve cover PC'd now. Hope to see you on the road sometime!
how do you like your KVR's after your extended use? What pads do they use, are the pads reasonably priced? Thanks and good looking miata.
Thanks for checking out my ride. I am very jealous...3 Miata's and your latest a 93 LE! Enjoy!
