This is my new 1986 Toyota MR2. I had a red one of the same year, but it needed a lot of work, and for the same amount of money I could have a nice running one. So I sold that one and bought this one after I saved up for a few months. It had rims on it, but I am not a big fan of aftermarket wheels on MR2's. With the stock wheels it just sets the car off right.
When I bought it the paint was badly faded, it looked almost like flat black in places it was so bad. However my boyfriend assured me that he could bring the paint back to life I wasnt so sure. However all I wanted was a good running MR2, so I bought it. Oh and a little nice bit of information,
IT ONLY HAS 65,000 ACTUAL MILES! I HAD TO HAVE IT!!

Of course it only had 61,000 when I bought it. Well we brought it home and changed the oil and spark plugs, put brand new Bridgestone Fuzions on it (Which I HIGHLY reccomend). Oh and of course switched out the wheels. The original wheels were a little rough too, but my boyfriend was confident he could bring them back as well.
Now you want to know if he actually managed to pull it off right?

He says he can make it look better yet. So look for more pictures to come. The engine developed a coolant leak, so he fixed that, and in the process cleaned the intake manifold up. I am going to buy new valve cover gaskets soon, that way he can repaint them to look brand new. So soon I will have more engine bay pictures up.

I love MR2s, they are cute, and the handle better than anything I have ever driven. On top of that they get great gas mileage! So how can you beat that??
My boyfriend owns a perfect 1981 Mazda Rx-7, with very low miles as well, but after I got my MR2 he got the bug. He just bought a beat up one he is getting ready to restore. He just wants to finish mine first. Here is his, and no he did not do ANY of the modifications. And none of the modifications were why he bought it. It is getting repainted properly, he just bought it so bear with us.
Here are some pictures of my three cars, and my boyfriends red MR2.
