BLiNK626's 1997 Mazda 626PLEASE leave comments! And thanks for taking the time to check out my ride! The car itself is a 1997 Mazda 626 LX (V6 2.5L). Its sittin on Speedy Wheels "Pursuit" 17" rim.

BLiNK626's 1997 Mazda 626Well lets start with the head unit. My deck is a Kenwood KDC-X859. I chose it for Kenwoods MP3 capability, the 3 sets of 4.5v pre-outs, and the fact that the deck will do a million other things like crossover freq, automatically set the time, hell it even lets you set how big your speakers are! Below the deck you can see my wired remote for the sub amplifier. And below that my co-pilot Tux.

BLiNK626's 1997 Mazda 626This is the Kenwood Music Keg MP3 player I have sitting under the drivers seat. Yeah I know about the extra cable all wound up there, but if you saw the connector you'd realize I'd be re-wiring for hours if I were ever fool enough to cut it to length!

BLiNK626's 1997 Mazda 626Here is a look at the 100 amp breaker and the 60 amp fuse under the hood. That nifty little bracket was my dad's idea/fabrication.

BLiNK626's 1997 Mazda 626This is the pride and joy of my system. On the far side is a Fosgate 1000bd. Its power passes through the Fosgate digital cap and then through the 2nd 100 amp breaker in the center of the amp board. The near side is a Fosgate 700x also running off of a Fosgate cap. It is fused through the distro blocks next to it. This was all built by Spongebob as he is seen posing with it. Can you find where he ran out of red 4 gauge and fudged it with some clear???

BLiNK626's 1997 Mazda 626These are my Kicker R22 tweeters. The car came stock with some tweeter grills on the dash which I thought had just gone dead when I bought the car used. However it turned out there was nothing under the grills! Anyway, they REALLY improved the imaging in the car. Before a lot of the sound seemed to bounce off the back window so everthing sounded like it was behind you.

BLiNK626's 1997 Mazda 626And this is my trunk. The box is a 3/4 MDF holding 2 Kicker S10L5s (dual 2-ohm). The spec on them is 450w RMS but I am able to put 500w to each with that fosgate amp. I suspect that if they ever blow I will already be too deaf to notice. The entire trunk is Dynamatted. This stuff works wonders for keeping your bass clean. Nothing is more annoying to me than someone with 4 JLs in their trunk but no Dynamat. The trunk rattles so much you can't hear any of the music!

Thanks for checkin out my car! Lemme know what you all think. I may add another pair of tweeters or coaxials to the back seat since my 700x will handle a 2ohm load. I don't have a picture of them but the door and rear deck speakers are Boston Acoustics RX87s. If anyone knows of a better speaker I should check out that will fit the 5x7/6x8 hole lemme know! Remember they gotta handle around 80w RMS too.

This is one last shot of my car while it was clean for a change!
