mitch-n-jess's 1986 Toyota Pickup

This is my girlfriend's '86 toyota pickup. She bought it for $600. Overall the truck seems nice for its age, but up close you can tell that the frame is split due to many years of neglect. She also has purchased a '85 toyota pickup frame. We hope to take both and make a pretty capable offroad rig. Stay tuned for more pictures. I plan to cover the full build.

The engine is pretty dirty and greasey, but it runs like brand new. With only 170,000 miles, the engine has just been broken in.

At first the truck just seems a little rough around the edges, but if you look closely at the very first pic of the truck you can tell that it is sagging in the middle.

With the bed taken off you can really begin to see our problem. The last owner replace the original bed and tried to fix the rust problem the wrong way.

The only thing holding the truck up after removing the bed are the two jack stands under the frame.

Here are some more pics of the rust bucket.

those leaf spring hangers must be a common rust point, my old boss had a great looking one on a 6inch or so lift and the hangers were rusted completely off

5.29's with some 34's? Nah i say to go with an all pro 5 or 6" lift and 35's! Haha Well regardless, it looks like a champ. Way to go. Keep up the good work! Let me know if you have any ideas for mine. Keep it real
