Jdinga68's 1987 Ford Bronco II

The Beginning! This bronco II was sitting in a parking lot for about 4 years. It belonged to a good friend of mine that inherited it from his father after he passed away. I inquired several times about purchasing the vehicle but he insisted on keeping it. After several failed attempts to start the bronco my friend was aggravated with it. I felt as if it was the perfect time to make an offer again. $200.00 dollars later it was all mine! Once i had the vehicle in my possession i began to troubleshoot the engine. I kept it real simple Air, Fire & Fuel. I inspected the intake area and everything seemed to be in good working condition. Next the ignition! I replaced the distributor cap, rotor, coil, and installed new plugs and wires. Then the only thing left to troubleshoot was fuel. It was a fuel injected engine so I knew when i turned the key to the on position I should hear the fuel pump running for a few seconds to prime the engine. Guess what? I didn't hear the pump! After dropping the gas tank and removing the fuel pump i verified that the pump was inoperative. $72.00 dollars later I installed the pump and inspected the wiring I reinstalled the gas tank. At last I was thinking, I'm ready to start my $200.00 dollar toy. Well $272.00 dollar toy now! So i turned the key and i heard the pump prime the engine and i thought Oh Yeah! My thoughts of the bronco running was short lived because when i turned the key ( nothing ). After going more in depth with troubleshooting and spending $19.99 on a chiltons manual so that i could get a wiring diagram I found that a wire going from the engine ecu to the fuel injectors that should have power on it had nothing. At last! Problem solved!
Now that the bronco was running it was time to go play. Well I guess I might have played a little to rough..Ha Ha. After taking to some local mud holes and amazed at it performance I thought it was unstoppable. I decided to do some backwards donuts and I had no clue that the 4wd selector was out of rig. The selector showed that it was in 2wd but after completing the backwards donuts and snapping my front left axle yoke i realized that it was in 4wd. So $246.00 dollars later I'm back on the road!
