R.I.P. 2000 FORD MUSTANG

i was driving down this road i live off of. its a long and winding road. well i went through a right hand turn, and started to slide (it had just rained), so i counter steered, but ended up going off the road. i hit a tree on the passenger side, just about where the inside of the headlight is.

Mind you i was doing the speed limit for this road, which is 35mph. i hit the tree, and momentum caused the car to slide, and use the tree like a hinge.

the thing that amazed me is that there was a little dirt embankment. i hit this so hard, it sent a rock through the floor. i think its made of 1/16 steel plate, but im not sure. all i know is its super strong, and i got a rock through it.

all that resulted from this crash:
a) a femur (hardest bone to break) that was broken in 3 places (right leg)
b) a fracture in my knee (right leg)
c) a fracture in my elbow (left arm)

and while i was in the hospital, i had a blockage in the blood flow to my lungs.

i now have a rod as a femur, and 3 bolts in my knee

but i have made a complete recovery... just gotta start working out more, build up the strength i lost

PLEASE WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS... I WOULDNT BE ALIVE IF IT WASNT FOR MINE, AND THIS IS ONLY AT 35MPH.

this was the wreckage:

the damage in the last picture is the front clip (basically the support for the front end) breaking off of the rest of the car. note that this is the driver side, and my impact was on the passenger side.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS WHAT SEAT BELTS ARE SUPPOSED TO DO.
but look at the damage. next time you go out to your car, give a good tug at the seatbelt.

That's a lot of damage! Car looks like it got hit by a 747 instead of a tree. Thank God you are alright. Hang in there, man, and keep buckling up. Hope the bones heal up alright and the lung problem isn't too bad.
