I made this site for my dad, Patrick, he has a awesome '68 GTO, I wanted to show all the work we have done to his car so far, just so others can see how awesome their PONTIAC can be, with some time, money and lots of fun! So remember this is my dads, Pats car, not Keiths, I have the formula 350 at

www.cardomain.com/ride/471099

I'm also on myspace at www.myspace.com/cronsformula

I also have a car club at www.v8havoc.com

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was today 8-15-08 at the Frankfort Illinois weekly cruise night.

                                         cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

Heres the precious 461 650hp motor.

                                         cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

Heres the pretty fresh interior.

                                         cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was the car many years ago, when it was in and out, from garage to garage for years. Here's a side shot.

                                         cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was a back shot, before the fresh carpet and stereo speakers.

                                          cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was a nice shot at Route 66, when the track first opened, with the old 400 and old headers, cam, street dominator intake and 650 spread bore holley, the car ran good, but the tires, the Belted 60's, didn't hook very well.

                                          cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

These shots are when we pulled out the 450ish horse original 400, it had a crane .500 lift cam, with 298/303 duration at .050, dougs headers, holley street dominator intake on it, a 750 holley, basically the bare minimum, it ran great, with 108,000 miles on it still; but we had a nice fresh motor to put in the car, and you'll see it! My dad street raced the car for about 58,000 miles, he bought it for $750 back in the day, what a deal! If only we youngins were so fortunate, lol!

This was right when we began pulling the old motor out:

This was right when we had the YS 400 block out of the engine bay

My mom always takes pics while my dad and I are doing work.

                                                cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

Here the old motor was out of the car, on its new resting place for a while, its been almost 3 years its been on this engine stand now

                                                cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

Here we are, dropping in the $13,500 homebuilt 650Hp monster pontiac, we show those big block chevies what to fear when were on the road! PONTIAC POWER!!!
cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This has a 461 pontiac, 650 horse motor, it will run mid to high 10's when we first have it at the track, but we need to put the 9" ford rearend in, the rear suspension, upgrade the fuel system to a 150 GPH electric fuel pump, and put a cage in the car. We'll probably do a 10 point cage, then put in some racing seats. We already have the electrical work in the car done, the motor and most things ready to go. We also want to take the front end nose off, and put a fiberglass one on, that weighs 4lbs. instead of the factory one which weighs 98 lbs, since this is going to be a nasty street strip car, we want to take the front nose off, use some firebird headlight motors, to open the hideaways, then put some 90/10 shocks up front.

This was the car when we first had it able to come out of the garage again, with the fresh pontiac motor, fresh polyurethane bushing front end, disc brakes, huge sway bar, and basically a very fresh front end.

                                    cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was the first time it got out on the road when we had the breaks and steering setup well enough to drive it again. And it was at the sears essentials I worked at also.

This was a front shot at a local car show.

                                     cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was a recent show at sears essentials, we put this model of a '68 Goat on the x-stream airflo aircleaner, they aren't at stores very often.
cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was before we had the hood on the car.

This was when we put the new hood on the car.
cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This is a nice front shot of the aircleaner through the hood, there not too common anymore, but this motor needs air, and it has a 1050cfm dominator, it SUCKS!.

                                      cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This is when you see this monster coming up behind you!

                                      cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This Hood is a bolt on, fiber glass from Glasstek in Plainfield Illinois, we picked it up for $300.  We used a tool similar to a roto zip, but it was for a compressor, the bits were just like the roto-zips for cutting through dry wall or wood. We used it for cutting the whole in the hood, it worked great!  Then we used a piece of material, plastic like you'd put on a edge of a door, to put over the clean cut, so it wouldn't rub into the K&N 11" filter and damage it, it worked great and only took an hour of time!

This is the 650 horse 461ci motor, a pontiac motor.

Here's the front end, with our bad ass plate, GEETEEO.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was at our Lemont Il, car show.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This is the interior, my son did all the electrical under the hood, and in the car, thanks Keith.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was how the interior was for many years, before we started freshening it up, and made it nicer, along with a fresh stereo and head unit my son Keith put in, gauges, carpet and steering wheel.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This was how the car was when we were doing the motor swap and front end work and bascially everything.
cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

Here was when we were freshening up the car, with the fresh nasty motor, this one was before we used a new alternator.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This is a nice shot of those long tube's and the way my son set up the wires and got the EVAC setup started.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

These long tubes looked great.

Here is the Moroso electric water pump drive were using.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

Here is our nice Perma cool electric fan, it's 9.5 amps though, but pulls 2950 cfm, with our Be cool radiator, it cools this monster off fast.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This is the TCI rattler absorber.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

Here is the painted upper control arms and disc brakes we used. The car originally came with 4-wheel drums, these help drastically slow the car down.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

Here is that 9" ford with 3.89 gears waiting to get put into the rear, it's a Currie.

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

Here my little one was getting ready to drive this monster from under the hood!

cronsformula's 1968 Pontiac GTO

This is my daugher Sarah, when she was little while we were checking the radiator for some reason.

Hey Pat & Keith! Poncho Phill here! Just registered as a member here. This is a really cool site with a LOT of really cool cars! I sincerely agree with cknarf's post about sticking with the Pontiac engine--as you guys know, I'm doing the same thing with my '68 Catalina Ventura. ALWAYS a pleasure to hear the beautiful music coming from that 461ci engine at the cruise night in Homer Glen!!!! See ya later!!
