The complete drivetrain was rebuilt, the 350-300hp engine was rebuilt back to stock specs. I also rebuilt the original 350 turbo transmission. The original 12 bolt rearend was disassembled & rebuilt with 2.73's & a posi.I added many options that were available on a '70 Monte Carlo, the factory options added are, vinyl top, power windows, power door locks, power trunk release, power seatback release, factory tach & gauges, AM/FM stereo & 8 track tape, tilt steering wheel, optional 3 spoke steering wheel, rear sway bar, front & rear bumper guards, rear window defroster, deluxe seatbelts, auxiliary lighting, heavy duty battery, cruise control, belt moldings, remote control mirror. The car had a/c, tinted glass, power steering, power disc brakes & fender skirts from the factory.I chose to use PPG paint when I sprayed the new paint. The body was preped with PPG DP-90 epoxy primer, then filler primer & lots of block sanding, before the PPG basecoat/clearcoat paint was shot on it. It is the original color of Forest Green Metallic (paint code 48), the car was originally a non-vinyl top car, but I chose to add a black top to help break up the green. The interior was also restored at this time, new carpet, seat covers, headliner & package tray were installed. The AM/FM 8 track is installed in the dash for looks, but the sound comes from a Pioneer cassette deck installed in the glovebox, it controls the Pioneer 6 disc CD changer mounted in the trunk, along with the Pioneer amp that drives the 4-way Pioneer 6x9's.The car rides on 15x8 vette ralleys with 255/60/R15 Hoosier tires at all 4 corners.Special thanks to my wife Patti, for her continued support during the restoration.
