Amplifiers
I am of the opinion that in a moving car most amplifiers within the same wattage range
are pretty much going to be comparable in sound quality. I realize there are differences,
I realize some people think that is the biggest thing to look for in a system, but I suspect
that with a 60 db noise floor in a moving car (if you are lucky) most if not all of those
differences will get drowned out by the noise in the car when it is moving.
With that in mind, I decided to pick product by stuff that does matter to me and that
separates amps from each other. I wanted to get something that was high power to
make sure I had enough juice to really rock and roll (I'm not going to be sitting in a
parked car listening to some demo CD of acoustic jams at low listening levels). I
wanted lots of power.
The next requirement was going to be product that had a good track record of being
reliable. The last thing I wanted to do was get all the equipment into my car
and then have something give out or be dead out of the box the first time it fired up.
To me that is an invitation to punt the product towards the end of the garage.
Luckily for me, we sell lots of different types of products in the CarDomain store, so
we what products hold up and what products do not.
Last but not least, I wanted something cosmetically beefy looking with a good
heatsink for a mean look.
With that in mind, I chose the Precision Power amplifiers. I wanted to get something
