I got the chevelle in may of 2004. It was in pretty rough shape when i got it.

It came stock as a malibu with 283 and powerglide. bench seats and column shift. power drum brakes. and the rare rear window defrost(fan).

I welded in new floor pans. lifted the body off and sandblasted and painted the frame. i replaced every bushing- poly in the rear suspension, rubber in the front.

I took the body off and made a dolly out of 4X4s for it. took that to the body shop and had the quarter, trunk pans, and wheelhouses replaced while i worked on the frame. once frame was done i put the body back on and sanded it to bare metal and welded a patch in the fender. i then took it back to the body shop where he finished the bodywork and painted it.

I converted it to bucket seats and console. reupholstered seats myself. I installed ss gauges along with the "blinker" style tach. new chrome on dash. i didnt want to cut the dash up but still wanted a cd player in it so my brother made a custom bracket so i could mount the cd player in the glovebox.

I put all SS emblems on it along with getting an SS hood.

Havent found a 396 to build for it yet so its powered by a rebuilt 350 chevy with a little hotter cam it and edelbrock performer intake with a Holley 670 Street Avenger carb on it. hooker headers thanks to a local mechanic. 2 1/2 inch exhaust with flowmaster 40 series mufflers. TH350 trans.

Made it into the top 20 for the 2007 Popular Hot Rodding Magazine Photo Contest.

UPDATE!! i picked up a 396, had it to the machine shop, and now gotta assemble it. its a 396- .030 over,9.5:1 compression, speed pro pistons(forged), stock steel crank, balanced, stock rods with ARP bolts, hydraulic roller cam-comp cam grind # XR276HR. stock heads, 2.19, 1.88 valves. scorpion roller rockers.

i will put up some pics of the build pretty soon here. thanks for looking!
