This is my stock 1994 Land Rover Discovery. It has a 3.9 liter V8 motor and automatic tranny. Am/FM Cd player with two 12" woofers in the back. I have put a lot of work into making her a reliable vehicle. I recently added a roof access ladder, window tint and running boards. The head gasket just blew and I am in the process of going through the whole motor. My heads are in the shop as we speak.

When I am done she is here to stay for a while. Stock is getting boring so I need suggestions on how to make my classic Discovery 1 stand out in the crowd. Any suggestions???

I hope to have more to look forward to than a brush guard, roof rack and some running boards? If you have some nice pics of your 1994 Discovery or know of one send them.

*Update* I decided to keep the the Discovery. The heads were rebuilt and it was found the motor needed to be rebuilt. I got a good deal so when it's all done I'll have a new motor,(top and bottom), and new Borla Exhaust system.

Ride is now running, time to fix the small stuff.

*Check my new pics added 5/25/08*

So far I have added a roof access ladder, running boards, window tint, rear mud flaps, front bumper brush guard, tail light guards and stereo system. The next thing I plan to do is service the transmission and transfer case. Not sure what comes next. Possibly wheels and tires If I can find a set that will fit. Maybe a suspention and body lift, depending on the type of wheels I find. Considering a roof rack and Chrome bumpers.

*UPDATE******8/25/08****

Since my last comment I have added a 50" by 50" safari roof rack and I am looking into the Skulte wheel adapters so I can possibly put a set of 20X7 20" wheels off of my Cadillac Seville pictured in my site garage.  I am also thinking of a set of wheel arch protectors to give the ride a newer look.  looking into paint job too but beware there is a lot of labor involved if you have the shop remove things like bumpers, spare tire and especially the stock roof rack.

Right now the project is on hold since my rover has been in the shop for almost two months between two shops.  I recently added a low mileage motor. shortly later I started getting leaks and my transfer case wasn't working.  The first shop sat on it two weeks before I figure out they had no clue.  I then took it to a second shop who appears to know what they are doing but slow as hell.

They tell me they needed to reseal the transmission, replace the transfer case and fix multiple vacuum leaks.

So beware of the love hate relationship these rovers offers. Still loving it though.

*HEY YOU NORTHERN CALIFORNIA DISCO ONE AND EARLY DISCO TWO OWNERS. ANYONE INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY PUTTING TOGETHER A CAR CLUB?  THIS WOULD BE FOR THE DISCO ONE AND EARLY DISCO TWO OWNERS WHO WANT TO SHOW CASE THE LOOKS OF THEIR RIDES RATHER THAN OFF ROAD ABILITY.  DROP ME A LINE.  I AM IN THE SOUTHBAY AREA. *

I see lots of cars clubs from custom hot rods to PT cruisers and I think its time for the disco owners to show their stuff.
