I hope you like the "new-look" Red Sun Rising. It is now nearing completion (bodywise, at least).
The car is a 1992 MR2 GT-S Turbo with HKS Induction and HKS Super Drager Exhaust, HKS EVC V Boost Controller and FCD running at 14psi, Blitz Access ECU further aided by Blitz Supersound BOV,Hyper SR turbo downpipe,Magnecor leads with Greddy Iridium Plugs, Mark Summers distributor cap and purple Samco hoses throughout. I am about to start a rebuild on my old engine and am looking to get 420+bhp, with a further 100bhp from the Nitrous injection.
Paintwork is in Rage Extreme Illusion red/gold flip, with 4 coats of lacquer over it.
Bodywise, it has twin Tom's air scoops, Erebuni high level rear spoiler, Bomex front bumper, side skirts, mirrors and engine cover with a Veilside rear bumper. The bonnet (hood to anyone in the USA) is by Mental Racing Developments in the UK and is designed to give a through flow of air from the radiator, as well as creating extra dowforce for the front end.The bodyline has also been smoothed out. Lighting is provided by Revision 6 lights to the rear and diamond clear front lights, all with LED bulbs.
The car has been lowered 40mm and runs on 18" Diablo Racing Bonita wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres.
The wheels are pointed in the right direction by a Sparco Extreme 2 steering wheel.
Other interior mods include custom carbon fibre build to house the hi-fi components behind the seats and carbon fibre tunnel cover. This is to be carried forward to include the dash and door cards shortly. Laser-cut stainless steel gauges, carbon fibre gauge bezel and colour-coded dashboard. The interior has been retrimmed in black & burgundy leather. Gearchange is facilitated via a TRD Quickshifter, with a Cosmic Aluminium Gearknob through an eXedy clutch, Fidanza flywheel and a TRD LSD unit.
It is protected by a Clifford Concept 600 system with Intellistart. It is also equipped with a Road Angel GPS Speed-Camera detector and a Snooper 920 Laser Diffuser for those occasional moments of indiscretion.
Planned mods include a Motec M4 Pro ECU, Wizards of Nos 4-point direct port Nitrous Injection, Spearco boot-mounted Intercooler with Aquamist water/methanol injection and a full engine rebuild with Cosworth custom-built pistons, 1000cc injectors, dual fuel rail and uprated fuel system, HKS 264 cams and adjustable pulleys, gasflowed head with titanium valves and springs, Owen Developments Stage 5 hybrid turbo, plus uprated braking system. I am looking to push out over 400bhp, using whatever means are necessary,before nitrous, ( 500+ bhp with ).
