Found my dream car by accident and had to have it. Goodbye TA. You will be missed!
These are not the actual car but it gives you an idea of the electron blue/mod red look.
First, while doing the cam install I verified my block casting number and ITS THE LS6 block!!!!! They were installed in about 25% of the 2002's. Now about the cam. Installed the GM Hot Cam and LS6 springs. The following are pics of the various tear down and reinstallation. While there are more radical cams out there I have always wanted this one. Anybody considering a cam swap should not feel intimidated by it. Its fairly easy and can be done in one day. I highly recommend renting an air compressor for the spring change. That will reduce your time by a good 1.5hrs. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. I will help as much as I can.
My little helper
Dyno'd car today with headers and cats. Previous run was without headers and uncorrected at 326/335 (towards bottom of page). Today's new numbers are 344rwhp uncorrected and 332/331 corrected. Graphs below. A/F was right on target. The headers took care of my lean condition.
GO TO PAGE SIX TO HEADER INSTALL 3/7/04!!!!
THEIR HERE!!!! My headers arrived today (instead of Friday) so now I get to wait all week before I get to put them on. Here they are.
So let's try this again. Be sure to check back after March 8 to see info on my install and how it sounds with the GMMG system.
Here are some new pics from today 2/21/04. Be sure to check back after 2/28/04 for pics of my FLP header install!!!
DYNO 2/7/04Went to the dyno for the first time. I need to get tuning done for sure. It would drop timing at about 4k rpm's because of knocking. Nothing bad but it is robbing me of about 10-15rwhp. As it is, I am knocking on the door of 400hp at the flywheel. The first run was a screw up because the tech did not realize that I had 4.11's. The car was responding better as it heated up too.
Just lowered the car 1-1/4" and installed new American Racing 200S with new Goodyear F1's all around!! The rears are 17x11 with 315's. Slight inner wheel rubbing was eliminated by using a hammer and tapping in the fender well. Those are some serious meats! Send me any questions or comments and I will gladly answer.
With everyone's professed love for Zanio, I will step forth for Meguiars. It's all that I will use and my girl gets her spa treatment once a month with weekly washes (rain or shine)!!! Imagine what this reflection would have been like on a sunny day.
