Here are a few older pics of my 1968 Mercury Montego MX ragtop.

I am currently trying to preserve it as much as I can, until I can afford a complete restore on it. I am the third owner, and the second was my mom. She bought it in 1970, and I have owned it since she passed in '97. It had been sitting since 1986, until I put a used engine in it from a 1970 ranchero. Unfortunatly she broke the original 302 too much to fix, and the 70 block was the closest I found at the time. Currently it has around 130,000 miles, and the engine has 90,000. Other than the engine block, everything is original on it, including all of the brackets, tins, and other engine parts. The top is trashed, but the seats are OK for the age. This car was driven only in the summer, but it shows its age. NOT rusty, just dings and one sad dent repair. One day I hope to restore it or restify it with a cleveland, but if someone has the right amount of cash I will sell it
I took the tarp off it for the first time in two years, and this is how it looks now.

I am getting historical plates for it since I dont drive it. I also sold all of my 351 cleveland parts, as I have zero plans to modify this car for as long as I own it. It would be great to hear from other people with Montegos or Cyclones with this body style, I know your out there somewhere. Thanks for looking and have a great day.
