I'm 18 years old and this is the Camaro the my dad and I have been working on for a couple of years to be a drag car for me.

***UPDATE***

The new engine is in!  It's a 350 smallblock chevy with vortech head and big camshaft.  All together with the parts it's got it should make upwards of 400 horses.

Out with the old 307.........in with the new 350!

Some more pics of the new engine.

First day at the track with the new motor.  The car's a whole second faster in the 1/8 mile than it was last year.  My last run of the night was a 7.991 for the new quickest time for the car.  I hope to get it out to the track a bunch this summer and get it running even better when i get use to the new setup.

Best times as of now:
Reaction: .002
60 ft.: 1.760
1/8 mile.: 7.991

We finally got to the track this year. The transmission made a huge difference. About a whole second off of the 1/8 mile time. This year's racing pics are on page 2

UPDATE*07/13/08*
We just put in a Line Lock this week. So here's a few pics

We tested the line lock in the driveway a few times. It worked great, the only thing is it melted the coating and now there's 2 low spots.

UPDATE*05/18/08*
We finally got the Turbo 350 transmission rebuilt and in the car. My dad took apart 2 old turbo 350s and used them to rebuild this one, it only took him about a week to get it all done.

We also put a TCI 8 inch racing torque converter in the new transmission.

We were given the car for free by a friend, but the deal was, he got the engine.

My dad had a 307 Chevy Small Block sitting in the garage, so he dropped it in.

Heres a couple of pics from the track:

The only local drag strip we have right now is an 1/8 Mile. The fastest run so far is a 9.91 at 75 mph

Here's the new 4" Cowell Induction hood. It's not bolted on yet and it needs some trimming along the front lip, but it's at least 50 pounds lighter than the heavy stock one.
