** CAR IS SOLD AS OF 2-4-09! CHECK OUT MY NEW ONE!**

Welcome to my page! Be forewarned that I am obsessed with my own car and have TONS of pictures :-)

I will update the page as much as I can with pictures, stories, and maybe even videos!

Since this is page 1, we'll start with the background of my MR2. Ever since I first saw the MKII deuce, I've wanted one. Finally my dream came true. Enjoy!

Back in 10th grade, (2002-2003 I believe) I had just started high school and I signed up to go to a Tech school for parts and service management. On the first day I showed up and there was an MR2 in the parking lot:

DPancoast's 1991 Toyota MR2

At the time I had no idea what an MR2 was. I was just getting into cars and got sucked into all of my friends talking about the Fast and the Furious movie. When I saw that movie I got into eclipses, but being so young and not having a lot of money, I just dreamed of owning a fast car. I went through all the phases. Del Sols, Integras, 3000GTs, Civics, Imprezas, Lancers, Supras, the list is endless.....Depending on the day, I wanted them all. After seeing this 2 in the parking lot, I had to know more immediately. It was cleaner than that picture and looked amazing that day (2's always look amazing, but you know what I mean). So I found the owner of it who was a year ahead of me. His name was Victor and he told me all about his car. It was a 93 N/A. No mods, but again, it was in amazing shape. After a couple of weeks he gave me a ride in it. During that time we went to his friend Krystal's house. Go figure, she has an MR2 in the driveway:

It was a 92. The pic is from the first day I saw it. Had rims, Cross-drilled rotors, AEM intake, HKS Exhaust, and some other accessories on the inside. Got a ride in that as well. She had a blue one as well. N/A, not sure of the year (I think 91). They (Krystal and Victor) would ask me how it was every time, and every time I was too busy laughing in disbelief. I loved those cars and HAD to have one.

11th Grade. Things were still the same. I hung out with Victor and Krystal a lot, checking out their cars, taking hundreds of pictures of them and learning as much as I could about them. One day Krystal calls me and tells me that she's selling her blue one! I had a very low paying job, no license, and no business buying an MR2, but instantly I started to crunch numbers. A couple of days later, a friend of Victor bought it from under my nose . With that I lost a little bit of hope. When summer rolled around, Victor took me somewhere that had tons of MR2s. As I walked around outside, I did everything in my power not to drool and cry because I was in shock. The beauty of the cars made time stop. Eventually I learned where I was... Dave Jenny's MR2 Warehouse. I talked to him about the cars.

He showed me his wide body which again, I was amazed by it. That was nothing compared to what I was when I got a ride in it! That was the first turbo car that I had ever ridden in. I was hooked even more so after that day. My love for the MR2 was through the roof. Everyday (at least once a week) I would go to Dave's shop. Watching him do swaps, looking at the cars, asking all kinds of questions. I couldn't get enough of MR2s. Throughout that time, I met Paul (JP Autowerks) who I later learned did an Auto/5spd swap (got a ride in it), rode in Dave's RHD (pre-beams motor), and even did my high school senior project on N/A to Turbo swaps. Any MR2 that I could, I got a ride in it.

At this time I was just about to turn 18. I got my license before that time, and my dad bought me my 93 Isuzu Rodeo. It was $800, but it was in good shape. I fixed it up, threw a system in it, and that was that. After thousands of dollars (literally....it was bad) I was finally able to just do oil changes and gas between inspections. Jump to 3 years ago. During that time I graduated high school, got a full-time office job, and things were great. I then got the opportunity to work with Broadcast Sports Technology (BST). They specialize in the RF side of broadcasting IRL, Kart, and Nascar in car, and pit cameras/talent packs for ESPN and the Speed Channel for most of the year. My first chance to go with them was to St. Petersburg Florida for the Honda Grand Prix. When I came back I spent my check on bills, school, and things to break even in life. At that point I decided that I wanted a new car. I was 19 going on 20 (we're into May of this year now) and my dad couldn't really say much anymore about what I could and couldn't do with my money. I always respect my dad, however I needed something reliable that got more than 9mpg with the rising gas prices. Instantly I started looking for an MR2....(sorry for the long winded story...we're finally at the breaking point). I was on a local message board and the previous owner of my car had his car up for sale. It was a 91, 5spd, t-tops car with a 2nd gen 3S motor in it built by JP Autowerks. Nothing made me doubt that the car was FAST. He wanted $4k. I didn't have $4k at the time and I was totally bummed.

I told him that I would give him an offer as soon as I could figure one out. I then went with BST to the Indy 500. I was with them for 2 weeks and could not wait to get home. Why you ask? Because my paycheck was going to be huge. I instantly told Justin that I was going to buy his car and that as soon as my paycheck showed up, we would talk. We lost touch due to complications and a month went by....no check....BST messed up. After losing all hope, I contacting Justin jokingly saying "sell your 2 yet hahaha". He came back with no, and informed me that the turbo engine, blew a head gasket at which point he had removed it, and placed a 5S clip from Dave in the car. It was half installed but, it was there. He stated his situation and I made him an offer....$2k cash. He accepted. A week or 2 went by and I finally got my check. We talked numbers, and settled on $2700. Reason being that he gave me the 3S motor (complete) with the car containing a low mileage 5S motor (70k miles).

Again, the 5S was half in because Justin just couldnt get to it. So I talked with him and he told me about his friend Matt. He stated that Matt helped him with the turbo motor and that he was a scientist when it came to cars. After a few more convos, I handed the car to Matt. He openly said he would help me and that's when it started. I got the title signed to me, registered and put on my insurance. That leads us to today. The car is running great still!

After all these years I couldn't stay away from the MR2. I respect you guys and the MR2 so much because of all I know and if it wasn't for my patience and some luck, I probably would be driving something else. But I am proud to say, that I own an MR2. I would also like to add that as things have it, the pic above of the MR2 Warehouse from back then has the car that I now own in it. It's the second car down from Dave's widebody...I thought that was funny.

So that's that. The following pages will include pics, info on the car, and anything else really. I'd love to meetup with any and all local (or East Coast for that matter) MR2 owners and enthusiasts, so contact me if you're interested.

Thanks again for looking and please visit the MR2 Owners Club website listed in my favorite links. It contains massive amounts of information about MR2s!
