This is a car my wife brought with her. The last car she has autocrossed. And with any hopes, will be back on track soon enough.

Cloud 9 is a 1972 Datsun 510 with a 1989 Nissan 300zx VG30 v6 with matching 5 speed transmittion and a Subaru LSD rear end. The body is supported by modified Porche carrea (will come back for spelling) coil overs. Unsure as to what year. The exhaust system starts with headers off the VG30, and is piped all the way back with a single 2.5 inch pipe and what looks like a ravin (spelling) muffler.

The original builder of the car is a guy named Dave Caroll from Northern Washington. Car was built as a show car, then was bought and stripped down for Autocrossing.

This is the begining of this site, and the history of this car. Over the next month, I will be working to get the information on this car more complete, and over the next year start to show its restoration progress.

Thanks for looking :-)

Update 4/18/08: As of next weekend we will have an adjustable fuel pump again, as we burned up a standard 11 pound pump trying to regulate it to 5. I still think we have an issue with the Carb's Floats, but we'll look at that in the near future. At least now I have a pump I can adjust to 4.5 p.s.i. so to not over power the carb.

Update 01/21/09: The car is in the Garage, and work is being done in preperation for track next season.  There are no new Pixs to show, but there will be.

Update 03/17/09:  So I have bumped into some more of my wife's old friends who seem to be interested in assisting me with information on building a Datsun 510.  If you ask me about places for Jeeps, I can help.  I can point people who build VW's.  I even have good resources for 70's Mopar.  But these 510's are a beast of there own.  Its been a reall interesting journey, and I look forward to putting in some hours on the body this Summer.  I right now need to purchase some tools, such as a tig welder and a Tube Bender.  Lets hope the Auto Gods are kind to me this summer.

Update 07/25/09:  Well, the car is on the road again.  Replaced the brake light switch, which also fixed the turn indicators (which I have no way to explain), and tabbed the car so its Legal to drive till Dec.  Dam I missed the car.  I havent had much time to work on this car this summer, I guess this is going to be one car that doesnt get touched till next year.  Wifes has 1 yr left of school, then with her added income we can start the restore.  Meanwhile, I will try to keep collecting parts.

The track photos were from the East Coast 510 meet. We all got to do parade laps at Summit Point. Then we realized the newly built drift track was open and not being monitered :) So we took about 6 510's out and just had some fun :) I am afraid to track my car b/c it's too pretty.... The next plan is for a complete tear down this winter. I plan on building a rotiseree for her and taking her down to metal. New paint and then reassembly. Thanks for the comments.

Another question? Do you have the 6qt pan? How much oil do you put in? Almost seems like 7 quarts to full. I am not sure that I trust my dipstick?
