This is my 1972 Ford Gran Torino drag car, and my third bracket car. It's painted Ford Performance White with the blue factory laser stripe down the sides of the car. Mechanically it's put together with my dad's spare parts off his 10 second Gran Torino, mine should run in the 11 second range. It's running a 460 motor, stock bore and stroke, with aluminum cobra jet heads from an expired 514 motor. C6 trans and 9in rearend with 4.11 gearing. It's stripped down, but it's still all steel.
Since I've written that last paragraph I've taken the car to the track once. It was working fine on Friday, but when Saturday rolled around it started acting a little funny, and to make a long story longer I kicked a rod out the oil pan on the fourth pass. No big deal, a new short block is just a phone call away.
Say goodbye to this motor.
Laser stripe doing what it does best.

Sitting in the staging lanes. My dad's '72 fastback is sitting next to mine. It has a 514 and runs 10.40's.
