First time drag racing with the Charger. The car was only as good as the person that was falling asleep at the line(me)! Or it was the big mean modified SRT8s that wanted to race. (100+ hp more than me) Only won one race this night, but had a blast!

On the return lane going back for more! Did 21 runs this night. Improved RTs, 60 ft times, ETs, and won half of my races. This is the last time for racing the Charger until I get racing slicks and CAI. I will post a few clips from tonight.

Me and the Wife went racing tonight. Her first time! Made 3 runs with her as passenger. Then I let her take the wheel. Won her first 3 races!!! That's my woman! I must have taught her pretty good too 'cause she got a better reaction time and ET than me, (for the night)! We were having too much fun racing to take pics, but Jess from Racelegal did. Hope to have them in a week! Next race date 6/27/08 !!!

Was an AWESOME night of racing! Tonight was the last time Ky-Man would be racing with me till September because of his heart surgery. So we ended it right by getting our first trophy for 2nd place in the FAST class! Here's one pic from Jess @ Racelegal.

.....A few weeks ago, I came home to a message on my answering machine from Rich King Casting stating how our car had been to the Fast and Furious 4 casting call and were kept on file. that there had been a request for the Charger for a project. I was stoked to find out it was for an episode of the new "Knight Rider" TV series. While not on set, I got some pics of the rides there.

Here's a pic me and the Charger Daytona and Mike Tracer(Justin Bruening) and his BULLIT Mustang. Justin is a real humble guy, down to earth. Told him about my son and he was more than willing to do some pics for him. When the day was done, I gave him a ride back to base camp in the Charger. When we got there, he showed me and a couple other guys his Mustang. He had just had a HURST short throw shifter and supercharger put in. Definetely a car guy.
.....All-in-all, I had an awesome experience working on "Knight Rider" Was a blast having the car in it, I was in some sceens. Hope I get to do it again!

.....Starting at the 2nd Speed Fest, Ky has sat in the #77 Dodge Challenger, and every year since. The driver of the Challenger, Ken Epsman, is not only a great driver, but a great person. Very accomodating for the fans. Well, this year, the #77 Challenger is nowhere to be found and noticed that Ken was driving the #2 AMC Javelin. So, after a while, Ky and I hunt down Ken. I walk up to Ken and say "OK Ken, Where's the Challenger?" He told me and Ky that Sam Posey (the original driver) had a charity that weekend and needed the car. I reminded Ken that Ky has sat in the Challenger every year and now this year, he's not. So Ken looks at ky and asks him "So, what do you want? Like a bag of chips or something?" Ky quickly replies "NO!" I then make the suggestion that maybe next year Ken could give Ky a ride in the Challenger. Ken jumps up and tells us to hang on a second. He walks off and talks to a couple of guys on scooters. Ken comes back and tells us to go with the guys on the scooters. Come to find out, the scooter guys were the event officials and were escorting Ky to take some rides around the track in the VIP lap cars!!! How FREAKIN' cool is that?!
.....First car Ky got to do laps in was a nice 2008 Mustang GT. The next round of laps were done the new 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT. One cool thing about this car was that when I went to look at the VIN, there was none! Pre-production promo / demo car! Plus, getting to do 100 MPH on the straights at NAS 1 is pretty awesome too! Ky got some vids while on the track. I'll post them later.

Folks, even as good as the drivers are and given the historic value of these cars, they are still "race" cars and they do race them! This Mustang kissed the wall, did a 180, theen kissed it again!
Craig Jackson of "Barrett and Jackson" drove the #3 Javelin. Pictured here with his mechanic after the race trying to figure out why Craig was only able to do 6 laps of the race. I'll leave it to him to tell his story.

..........First time racing since me and Ky-Man went in June. Wasn't a large turn-out tonight since Rich Christinsen from "PINKS" was doing arm-drop races at the BARONA 1/8 mile track tonight. Still was some good racing! Lots of SRT-8 Jeeps, one with a 426 in it! An 2009 SRT-8 Challenger was there also. Tonight was especially sweet for me. Got 1st Place in the Fast Class tonight! I'll post some pics later once I get them off the camera.

..........Tonight was "Offroader" night at the show. LOTS of awesome machines. There was one car that captured my attention. Now, the TEAM I didn't see, but I did see the DART!! If you've seen the show "BULLRUN" on SPEED, then you know this car is no trailer queen!
It's pretty cool that these guys come from East County San Diego, where I'm from. They love Mopars, same as I do. And the color of their car, "SUB LIME". These guys represented in Season 2,
I hope to represent in Season 3 !

Vicki's shop had another car show. It wasn't a giant car show, but the ride's that did come, were absolutely awesome!!!

..........Another awesome weekend of "Race At the Base" at Coronado Naval Air Station North Island. Today was only OK since I was alone for it. Dropped my Dad of at the airport and Ky-man had to work today. Still, AWESOME cars and AWESOME racing!

Another beautiful day, more beautiful cars! This pink 08 WICKEDSTANG was sharp. But not as striking as this venom green 08 Viper!
As is tradition for Ky at every speed fest, he test fits the driver's seat for each Mopar!
(I believe he fantasizes that while sitting there, a crew member will come running up saying " Ken (or ) Andy can't race! Can you take there place !?!") LOL!
Could you blame him ? Who wouldn't want to get behind the wheel of one of those machines !?!
This year was 4th Annual Coronado Speed Festival Car Show
Of the 2000 + cars in the car coral, over 200 cars participated in the car show.
1st and 2nd place trophies were awarded in multiple divisions like Buick, Chevrolet, Corvette, Camaro, Ford, Mustang, Dodge, Plymouth, Mopar E Body, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Firebird, European, Tuner, Miata, AMC, rat rod, street rod, and truck. Specialty divisions were Best paint, engine, flames and Best of Show.
First place winners had the opportunity to do a parade lap around the race track, also know as "NAS-1" For the Dodge Division, the Charger got 2nd place! Since the first place winner for the Dodge Division was too busy watching the racing to know that he had won ('72 Dart), me and the Charger, got to go in his place!
Best Engine and Best of Show went to this 41 Willys coupe. This was one awesome car!!

Meet & Greet 02/06/10
Well, today was my first "Meet & Greet" here in the Low Country. The reason, one of the chapter's members serving our country in the US Air Force had just returned from deployment. We all meet up at ALLUSA Motorsports in Monchs Corners, SC. Then we all cruised to one of the local bar-b-ques for some lunch. Good time was had by all. I managed to get a few pics.

Was a great show with some AWESOME rides!
1970 Challenger R/T 440 in FJ5 sublime and 2009 Challenger R/T Classic in B5 Blue.
This Camaro won "Best of Show". How the hood opened was impressive as well as a ghosted "Eagles" (the band) logo on the hood.
Loved these 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1s!
Very well done VW Bug and loved the front end on this Mazda Miata.
Here is a co-worker's recently acquired Cobra.
What really topped today off was that the Charger got it's FIRST 1st Place trophy in the "1990 - 2010 Open Class"
