hi my name is allen clayton this truck is a 1983 ford ranger has a v8 and all it needs rite now is a tranny so if you have one for sale let me know.this truck is my brother in laws and i have helped him redo most of it.my brother bought it for 200 dollars and my brother in law traded a mustang for it.we have redone the interior put two beds on it different wheels and have now spent 4 or 5 months putting a 302 in it we had to buy a new oil pan order a oil filter adapter kit and all that good stuff we hope to have it running by next month so let me know what you think about this truck

Thanks for checking out the truck. The swap wasn't too bad. To fit the 5.0 liter block all we really had to do was remove a little of the frame for right side header clearance and oil filter relocation. I'm not sure what all is involved with a 351 swap, but you may want to look into a stroked 302, if you are looking for more cubic inches. The 351 is a bigger block and I have heard finding headers that fit is a little tougher then the 302 based swaps. As for the front suspension, nothing was done to it in relation to the engine swap. It is lowered though. As long as you relocate the oil filter there should be little to no interference with the steering or suspension. Hope that helps. Good luck with your swap.

very nice but how reliable is the engine and wheres a good place to look because i was gonna go all out and get a create engine. im gona have a different tranny to go along with it too.

hey man whats goin on. i need some tips! i left my truck at home when i left for the coast guard. i want to fund it back at home so i can have it shipped to me but im not sure of how much my project will cost and everythig that goes into it. i love this truck and i wana hear her roar.
