August 1999 I sold my Land Rover Discovery to start the task of building my dream truck. I chose the Toyota Hilux (Pickup) because it is the easiest truck in the UK to modify.
The main problem here in Great Britian is that modifying trucks is quite a new thing and most parts are either imported from the USA or have to be custom made.

This is how my truck looked, what now seems an age ago.

The first thing that I did was to remove the wooden liner in the bed to check that there was no rust. I then painted in a Protectacote liner.

behemoth's 1991 Toyota HiLux Preparation: Lots of elbow grease with the wire brush.

behemoth's 1991 Toyota HiLuxDuring: Three coats with a roller and a paint brush (next time it will be sprayed on).

The finished liner. It looks almost this good after 3 years of abuse.

i love the truck. i have a 91 pickup 6" lift with 32" all terrain tires. but i was wondering how many feet or meters you used of tubing for your brush guard, roll bar and bumper?

I LOVE YOU RIDE!!!! I do have a couple questions for ya'... 1) Was it originally equipped with front leaf springs? (mine has Torsion bars) and 2) How did you compensate for the extreme angles on your CV's and U-Joints?
Please take a look at my Hilux Surf and let me know what you think, and I'm open to any recomendations you may have :) -Ken Jacque
