Boby and exterior

This is my Sierra´s frontend. If you are sharp you can notice bucket under the car. Wonder why. That´s because I am leaking the cooling liquid out of the radiator and out of the block...

Here I got a picture from side of the car, suprise no cossie sideskirts yet! But someday there will be.

In the future this car will be a RS500/RS Cosworth replica, but that is when I have more money. Obviously I will tune engine also, in the future..Time shows will the engine be turbo charged or naturally aspirated :-)

Piece of bumper is missing, as previous owner said it flew away at the speed of 118 mph ( same as 190km/h to the finnish people), of course in the future I will change broken bumper to more aggressive iS- bumper, which will be painted same colour as the car´s body is now.

Something has smashed to backhatch, naturally it will be changed to iS- model one, flavoured with a cossie wing of course.

Show time! New iS- bumper is on its place. Looks nice comparing to the original one.

Another shot, better, better... :-)

When winter arrived, new chapter in this project began. As you can see Sierra has dissappeared..to new carage! That hot Civic is not for sale anymore :-)

Frosty and cold wether didn´t stop crawling under my car, in other words body jobs are moving forward! Because the fuel tank was near of biggest rust spot, it needed to be removed. At first I jacked Sierra up to fit my self under it...

After then begun harder part. The first bolt from all three just didn´t released... None of my wrenches took grip on bolts head. Also my electric light went dark, luckily some Edison Jr. invented flashlight, so at least I saw partly what I was doing. In this point things were about to get hopeless. There was one tool that I haven´t try. Because of sparking it´s dangerous to use near fuel tank, but with courage angle grinder saved my day!

After I got bolts open, I carefully lower tank down with jack.

After releasing fuel hoses, I removed tank away, which is coming for sale becoming days.

Empty filling hole. Once you see there...

...you will notice there´s nothing there :-) Next week welding jobs will begun, and I´m looking for new rear axle, with locked diff and disc brakes, till then!

Half of a year has gone so fast and lot of things have been done. In the interior scenario you saw one rust spot in right inner rear wheelarch, but there was  more to come... Actually the welding jobs ended in July, which caused delay for deadline set by me.

The "slice" hole was bigger than I expected.

Near tank filling hole there was basically nothing...

But there was more to come. Well, what else can I do than, take my cheap Mig- device and start to weld! Began from fixing the first hole.

boilerman's 1984 Ford Sierra

No more incoming water, gravel or dirt.

boilerman's 1984 Ford Sierra

I "Mig- specced" also slice hole from right. Note: I didn´t even need to take exhaust away :-)

End of July, and welding, jobs were done! Up next it´s time to move upper level, meaning fitting of cossie wing and rubber spoiler, iS (suprise) over backhatch.
