............So this is my Car..........
I started the car when I was 15, DOING 95% Of the work along the way. She's my absolute Pride and Joy! And when it finally gets complete, she'll be over 700 Hp and one of the nicest 83s you guys have ever seen...Suspension is finished...body is done...I just gotta get the New motor in and everything will be complete..!

THERE ARE TONS OF PICS..SO MAKE SURE TO CHECK THEM ALL OUT!!!
And Please SIGN my Guest Book..!

My friend (Danny Verot) and I drew up this dream CAMARO when I was 15.. and has not been altered in anyway since! My dream was to have a camaro that was not like any other one on the PLANET, and this is what we came up with. And as you can see by the original plans.. it turned out to be pretty close, the only major difference is the paint job was slated to be even more complicated yet!

Doneup83Camaro's 1983 Chevrolet Camaro

I NEEDED A CAR..So this is what I started out with......A $500 dollar peice of Sh*t!!
Notice the surface rust..???
I ended up just changing out the fenders and hood with brand new ones afterwards anyways..

Doneup83Camaro's 1983 Chevrolet Camaro

The car was originally owned by my uncle......until he eventually parked the car in our yard for a few years.. (5 or 6 years I believe)..
and i gotta say It made for a real nice lawn ornament!..I then later decided to by the car instead of my Dream Crotch Rocket --CBR 900 RR Fireblade--..which was probably the better choice as it kept me busy and out of trouble for the next few years...not to mention it kept me from killing myself at 300kmh...

-------------------------------------------

Heres a little info about her

Engine Mods
The Motor is pretty much STOCK...But since I was 15 I wanted to learn how to rebuild a motor. so we bored her .030 over, ported and polished heads, put a higher lift cam, oversized pistons, and a new carb...(just the usual stuff)
I didn't want to invest in the new motor just then...so I thought I'd wait until I had the suspension finished..

Right from Day one I wanted to build a motor that was going to suit the car...something that had some crazy torque. And if you know anything about superchargers, then you know about Procharger..! Eventually when I get a chance we are going to be throwing a 25-27 pound Charger onto a TPI motor to try and get over 700Hp at the rear wheels....I've waited this long to, so theres no point in putting some wimpy motor in now.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Exterior Mods
The exterior of the car is pretty much complete now...(I do have plans of putting different decals on with our new logos, but that won't be until later this summer).
I first painted it dark purple..(when I was 15)...I then repainted it again and added white racing stripes...(about a year later) But it was never exactly how I wanted so I then repainted it again 2 years later with the PPG Halequin Essence.
I had orignaly decided to to have blades on the side...but decided against it due to the complexity of the design intermixed with the ground effects...and additional costs involved!!

Doneup83Camaro's 1983 Chevrolet Camaro

If you take a good look you can see that I Shaved the Door Handles and antenna and installed VPA door poppers with Remote Capabilites and then threw on CUSTOM MADE GROUND EFFECTS which were made for the car in Florida..the back of the car received a FREEDOM DESIGNS active rear spoiler...PPG's Harequin Essence Color Changin "Night Frost Scheme" Paint Covers her up nicely...especially with those hard to miss Ghost Stripes which seems to add a little zip to the car.

I then added a Customly Sandblasted Windsheild and "Limo" tinted it all around...(Including the Windshield..) A Customly Designed XXX graphics Pak on the exterior was added also.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Suspension / Chassis Mods
As for the suspension...The Factory suspension was a complete joke as far as I was concerned...I did some research and ultimatly decided on an Eibach Sportline Racing Suspension with a 2" Front/Rear Drop...But I didn't stop there...I wanted to possibly regain some of my lost clearence so I then added a Airlift In-Coil Suspension with an In Dash Control Centreand high performance KYP Nitrogen Charged Shocks and Struts...we then added Oversized Front and Rear Antiswaybars with a Hotchkis Performance Panhard Rod and Traction Bars...This was all held nicely together by Energy Suspensions Polygrahite Bushings all around...

I do have plans on adding subframe connectors..but are waiting on the addition of the roll cage before installing it

This car Has 13 tubes of Eurolite Neon Purple/Blue/Red...The Red turns on and Purple/Blue turn off when you hit the brakes

----------------------------------------------------

Wheels / Tires Mods
I looked around and finally ended up ordering in some 17"'s with 245 45 17 and 225 40 R17 BFGoodrich Scorcher Series Rubber...packed on them...For anyone who doesn't recognize this type of tire...To my knowledge its the only tire in the WORLD that has COLOR in it...specifically BLUE on this set... I actually had to special order the fronts from Vancouver and the Rears from Ontario..
The offset on these rims was actually set up so that I could house larger tires, but at the time of ordering BFG did not offer any larger sizes.

And YES these do leave colored blackies on the pavement..

Doneup83Camaro's 1983 Chevrolet Camaro

As for the brakes..the factory brakes just don't cut it!!...after some serious research...I'm going to go with some Wilwood Heavy Duty 4 piston Calipers with oversized rotors for the front and rear.

If you look closely at the blades on the rims, they have the same color changing effect as the paint.

--------------------------------------------------

Interior Mods
I had orginally switched out the factory seats for a pair out of a 97 T/A (including the carpet), but received an awesome cash offer for those seats and decided to sell on the spot and then upgraded to Megan Racing Race Buckets. I had to get these specially ordered in from the US as the distributor for Canada was not available at present time. I then Added Silver Matrix Racing 4-Point Harnesses to offset the black. Now in the pictures the belts have been bolted to the fatory locations, as we are currently building the roll cage to compliment the seats. I then switched out the factory pedals for Megan Racing Chrome EL Pedals and scrapped the old steering wheel for a Tenzo Type R Racing Steering Wheel.

(Yes I know these pics suck...I'll have better quility ones up later.!)

I want to thank my best bud Kasper for helping with the install of the Seats and the new steering wheel (which was also a pain the ass) and fabricating a mounting kit for the s-wheel.

Some people say it looks to "importish", but it is way more comfortable and looks 10 times better then the other wheel. I looked at all the different brands of wheels but the Tenzo matched the old one the best and didn't have the $300+ price tag associated with MOMO wheels.
The conversion To the Tenzo was a major pain in the ass as an install kit made to bolt the wheel onto the camaro without any mods was not available so we decided to build our own.

Doneup83Camaro's 1983 Chevrolet Camaro

The entire dash is going to be scrapped and a full Carbon-Hex dash is going to be fabricated which will be housing AutoMeter gauges along with 3 video screens including 1 touchscreen, indash DVD and lots of other stuff.
ALL of the carpet is coming out and will be replaced with Carbon-Hex and then sprayed with PPG paint. A custom headliner is also being fabricated to compliment the new Door panels that are to be fabricated as well, but I can't start on any of this until the new equipment arrives. So stay tuned and check the update title at the top of the screen to see if the page has been updated.

----------------------------------------------------

Other Mods
If you take a close look at the Front End..I made custom signal-light blackouts...and removed the signal lights on the fenders and covered blacked them out with color changing Vinyl (not in these Pics) which seem to help Blackout the front pretty good...As for the tailights...I had a set of GTS blackouts covering up everything...But I just couldn't seem to keep my name out of the cops ticket book..so I eventually decided to build my own Customly Designed Hyper LED Taillights which I spent approximatly 3 weeks on!! Believe it or not...I have not yet received a single ticket from them..due to the fact they are so Flippin BRIGHT and becasue they were actually built to DOT specs.

Doneup83Camaro's 1983 Chevrolet Camaro

THIS IS HOW THEY LOOK DURING THE DAY

These things are so bright...I can light up entire parking-lots with just the blue on.

The Taillights were done in a blade style to kind of keep the car "IN SYNC" to match the rims and ground effects. I have plans on changing them to "X's"...but do to the complextiy of reworking the blades..and time involved...I haven't yet done it!

I get mixed reactions all the time...some people absolutly love them...and some hate them...but what I have always found is that when you see them at NIGHT in PERSON, everyone seems to agree they are pretty wild.

Personally I am not a huge fan of them during the day as they stand out xtremely from the car...But I put huge amounts of effort into creating something truly unique. Until one actually spends over 125 hours on two lights which have to look perfect in every way...and be COMPLETELY WATERPROOF you don't realize the work and patience involved.

This is how the look in the evening with both the red and blue on and Just the blue!

I've also just completed my Headlight Conversion ...Which means I got rid of the old sealed headlights..and put H4 4300K color bubs in. This car now has more light output than a new BMW or LEXUS..do to the fact that I've also rewired them to all come on at the same time...Instead of only 2 at a time..

The nice thing with this conversion is that I can even upgrade this to True HID if I want...

Doneup83Camaro's 1983 Chevrolet Camaro

I've also got to say that this was one of the best upgrades I have done to the car...
With all 4 Headlights on...and the Ultra White Bulbs...
Its like driving in sunlight becasue they are so freakin bright...!!!!

The pic at the very top of the page on the left is with the old sealed beams, hence why they are discolored. JUST FYI.!

---------------------------------------------------

Stereo Mods
As a certified MECP installer I am planning on installing 6-12" drivers in the rear seat area...
I recently installed my Race seats in with 4 point harnesses, and now have started building my roll cage, so when that is completed I will build the stereo around those mods.

We expect it to be nearly 5,000 watts RMS ...Wild Plexiglass, and Laser Lighting to part of the design!

I've already put 7 Batteries ( 2 Deep-Cycle Up Front and 5 Gel-Cells In the Rear)and will be installing a customly wound High-Output Altenator

This is a pic of the 3-10" Nakamichi Subs that I threw in really quick one day..... The box was painted with the same paint as the car was but was done very quickly due to time restraints. As of right now there is a Planet Audio 2250D Amp with a Stinger 1 Farad Cap supplying the power. We put this in temporarily as the new equipment is slated to arrive shortly, and I needed tunes for the spring months.
This is the same amp that my Girlfriend is using in her system to power 4-12's. (see Page 3)

YES! I know the wires look like shit but they served a purpose for the time

The Car is secured by a Top of the Line alarm system...keeping theives at bay.

Check out PAGE 2 as I have posted a couple pics of my Girl
friends car with 4-12'S and 2250 watts of Planet Audio Power.
