75 Duster Project
JCs75Duster's 1975 Plymouth DusterHere's the car. It's a 1975 Plymouth Silver Duster with 120,000 miles on it. The previous owner had it painted black and pinstripped it with maroon lines on both sides. I did some homework and found it it was a Silver Duster: it has dual horns, vinal top, 225 slant six, and when I looked under the deck lid I saw the former color was silver.

All in all the car isn't bad at all. The worst rust damage was in the trunk do to back weatherstrips and a small hole on the front floor pan drivers side. I got the car for $500 dollars and drove it home.
JCs75Duster's 1975 Plymouth Duster After an oil change, spark plugs, wires, a cap and rotor, and some trans fluid the car ran like a champ accept it was running insanely rich and stinking up my backyard. Rebuilding the carb helped smooth the idle and thinned out the mix a little bit. The engine has an intermitent miss, I've still got to run a compression test, power-balance, and cylinder leakage test.

You sound like you have some of the same plans as I have. A stroked 340 or 360 with a Keisler 5-Speed would make a sweet fast ride. Hopefully one day I can do that to my 71 Duster. Check mine out sometime.

Nice duster looks like alot of work though... but you can tell how far you want to go with it... how long till the 340 is in... that' going to be a nice ride.
